One thing i've been thinking about is a dedicated forum for 'classic' west coast era stuff.. there are complaints/concerns that too much 'new' west stuff gets lost from the main section, as well as discussions on news updates.. so I figured since the golden era was roughly 15 years ago there should be a place for people appreciating the classics/living in the past. a dedicated death row/ruthless type sub forum.
(p.s. the new Dre song is booooring)
Glad there doesn't seem to be resistance to the idea...So how should be bracket what goes in there? Pre-millenium? Strictly death row/ruthless? Where does post snoop row death row fit in? early aftermath?Just not quite sure where to draw the line... maybe the '2001' album should be 'the line' ?

I still consider 2003 sill a classic time for the West. D.O.C.'s Deuce, young Roscoes Philaphornia, Bad Azz's album, the 2nd Hittman promo, Welcome to tha Chuuch vol 1 & 2, Nate Dogg's elektra album, Makaveli & Dillinger album, Kurupts against the Grain from DPG + The DPG Unreleased Collection....
^ i was already writing my reply.. but basically.. for slightly different reasons i've ended up in the same place... 2005/2006.Quote from: OG Will_B on March 16, 2011, 05:13:18 AMQuote from: Don Seer on March 16, 2011, 04:58:13 AMGlad there doesn't seem to be resistance to the idea...So how should be bracket what goes in there? So... what about 2005? .. with Game's first album / Guerilla black not falling under the 'old' banner?
The reason has been outlined, and backed up.It means that NEW music and discussion of current events will rule in the main section, the 'new' section will take everything pre 'The Documentary'.. meaning people can rave above The Chronic, Doggstyle, 2Pac, Death Row, Ruthless. People still discover this music, and discussion of it should be encouraged.Bit of a gray area are the releases of old material like the LBC Crew stuff.. but i figure its part of history and isn't going to represnet the current west.
