replace the word GOOD with CONFIDENT...

from reports he's never been satisfied with his own vocals, so doubts they'd stand up on their own.

yup i'm for real. there are numerous artists out there who are cirppled by having to live up to their previous achievements.

dre was always a perfectionist, but with the weight of his past and the detox hype he must be going nuts..

THAT
+ look at all so called detox features till now ... everybody who worked with dre in the past and also have worked with artist from aftermath are now featured in detox.
i mean favor fo favor , dre is returning them their favors like. my 1 cent... ohh and dre is producer first then whateva else

Edit : JAsonveli ... you say no dre beats on the album , how we know , who knows and also im pretty sure the doc can put beats on that can kill the whole rap game instantly...but he dont.
P.S.  i dun know if i express myself correctly , forgive me im euro , not english speaking.

Dre's bread and butter has never been performing as a solo artist. He's only known to do it out of commercial neccesity. He wasn't on any of the big Cube-era N.W.A. songs outside of "Express Yourself". When Cube bounced, he took a more active role on the mic to fill that void. He did the solo thing at Death Row because at that time, he was the only act over there with a marketable name. Similar thing happened when he jump started Aftermath with "Been There, Done That".

I bet there will be a few tracks with just Dre rapping on Detox, his lost confidence and voice change not withstanding

I always been a huge fan of dre as a rapper.  Now after the few things I have actually listened to concerning detox I really don't care about it, but I always would have liked to hear more dre rapping on his own.

And Em and the haters convinced him to do 2001. The nigga doesn't give a fuck about rapping or releasing singles.

Actually , Dre started the whole featuring thing when he dropped the Chronic . You never saw guest appearances before that , but since then , it has been the cool thing to do.

How is that an idiot statement ? Look at all the westcoast releases after the Chronic dropped ...Compilations were given birth to after that as well because it was all about collabos after that point .It was uncommon on the west to have guest features before that , stupid ass .I remember Cube and Too Short did a collabo on " Short Dog's in House ' , and Cube did some stuff with Public Enemy , but Cube was an east coast wannabe at that point .After the Chronic dropped , guest features were the new trend , and are still the standard. Look at all of Too Short's albums , besided Cube , there was hardly any guest features before the Chronic .RBL Posse's first album had only one guest .
