what is a pimp rapper ? a rapper who raps about pimp stories or a rapper that's also said to be a true pimp ??

cause Short falls into the first category but not the second, he admitted himself that it was a persona not based on a true story and Shorty B has confirmed this.

as far as the second category there are a few westcoast rappers who are said to be real pimps / have been involved in pimp activities :

word, his "Pimp Shit" album is fire and the "U Not My Lady" song where he twists D'Angelo's "Lady" is one of my personal favorites.

agreed about D-Shot too (and the other obvious ones). but he's more on a player tip than on a pimp tip really (on songs like Call Me On The Unda, Huckleberry, Porno Star)
