Messy aint a great lyricist bot he got a above average flow & a dope voice (one of the best voices in hip-hop today imo). Dude got that swagger.

Messy's fallen off IMO... but dude was dope from 94 to 06-07 to me. dude had mad mainstream appeal, and a crazy work ethic on top of that. still wonder why he's always stayed regional. he had everything to hit big like a Jeezy for example, the beats, the voice, the gimmicks and catch phrases (What's Haaatnin', Playin wit my nose, etc.), he even had the right features to cross over on his albums (Lil Flip & 40 when they were big, Keyshia Cole, Birdman, Dead Prez etc.).

he isn't a lyricist at all but he still makes entertaining songs... he still had some good lines here and there though and dude could flow like crazy... on songs like Keep it on the DL he rapped his ass off.

but what made him stand out during the musical drought the bay went through during the 00's was his beats too... Sean-T, Rick Rock, D'Wayne Wiggins, dude put out some serious songs.

i was happy to see him featured on the latest trae cd... unfortunately the song's nothing special... what a waste of a combination

Messy Marv was one of my favorites until mid-07 everything that dropped after is pure garbage. And thats caused by his cocaine abuse... just listen to his new album snippets "Kontraband", he caqn't even pronounce shit anymore, he sounds really fucked up. And all that boy boy young mess shit was ridicolous and corny as hell. im really sad what happened to him. but as his name says, he is a mess right now. fucked up completely. and that hannah montana track was just the tip of the iceberg... WTF WAS THAT?!

As for Goldie, I never considered him to be one of the greatest rappers but I lately recognized that has some good raps and flows. I like his verse on the new Snoop records on "We Rest N Cali".
