KC rap fans love Messy Marv so I'm guessing he's wack and wouldn't bump his shit around KC just on principal

you're "guessing" so your opinion has no value. if you actually knew about mess's discography then your opinion would hold weight. but no you're basically judging a book by its cover. you're dissing people for being sheep and preach about knowledge but i guess you really are the ignorant one that judges someone's music because people you hate listen to it. stupidest reason to dislike an artist.

people from KC listen to a lot of Bay area music... there's a strong Bay/KC connection... like Rich The Factor who did projects on Get Low Records and collabo albums with J. Diggs or Fat Tone... i understand you're not into the bay scene, but calling it "wack" just because you hate your town is ridiculous.

How can we not compare them ? they're both gangsta rappers... I love Goldie Loc's music to death but it's not like he's one of the GOATs (neither is Messy which is precisely my point, both can be compared). let's break it down


Career : Messy Marv. Goldie has two group albums with the Eastsidaz. but his solo career is irrelevant as fuck... lowkey project with cheap production... I actually loved the project that leaked in 01 with the songs "Money", "Work For Me", "I'm A Lowrider", "From the County to the Pen" but at any rate Messy Marv takes the win for his incredible work ethic. 94 to 07 dude's been dropping albums and compilations that ranged from alright to very good. no classics though. Goldie has a classic group album (1st eastsidaz) under his belt but then again he wasn't the frontman of the group and IMO Tray Deee was better on that album (and in general, but not taking anything from Goldie's talent).

Lyrics : Goldie Loc. both ain't lyricists but Goldie is the better one, dude had some very good lines on the eastsidaz albums

Voice : It's very subjective but I'd go with Messy. Goldie has a good voice too though.

Flow : Messy. I love Goldie but he's inconsistent. Dude is actually off beat quite often... take the eastsidaz albums, his verses on "Ghetto Life", "Dogghouse", "Crip Hop" for example contain phases where he clearly is offbeat. Messy's flow is trash nowadays but he has proved in the past that he could flow like a MF.

One thing Goldie has that Messy doesn't his production skills, but then again Goldie has not produced a lot...

so overall I think Messy Marv has had a better career than Goldie Loc... I mean if u take a look at their catalogues it's pretty obvious. Goldie could have had a good career if he had put himself out there like Messy Marv did.

Messy is trash nowadays though, his Blood rep is really fake... plus dude calims Fillmoe but is from Pittsburg, his beef with San Quinn looked really silly from the outside, dude really lost it.

Goldie had a bad career, dont even think hes eatin good. too bad Koch Records dropped the ball on the Warzone-project. hes a very talented dude musicaly n artisticaly, n if Snoop
knew better hed git rid of those new clown-protegees (Hustle Boyz, Mac Shawn) - and put Goldie on again.

that's exactly what I think Michael Madsen... couldn't have said better... only thing though I do think the Hustle Boyz are talented. Mac Shawn was relevant at some point (93-01) but is washed up as we speak

Goldie had a huge potential... considering his skills on the mic and behind the boards...

Goldie Locs career is already done and has been done for several years. Messy is still putting out albums.  

Considering one paved his own way independently and the other wouldn't even be rapping if Snoop hadn't put him on an album....I think its pretty obvious who's better.
