alright, we ned a thread about em

i like the chicano-rap scene, n ive been gettin into it a bit latly.
they r really segregated, n they seem to be doin they own thing,, not givin a fuck about the outside industry.
they're pushin their own lil records, n the razas & jefes are pickin em up

as far as quality, well.. thats another thing. most of em cant rap at all,
but some of em r talented/decent

Mr Knightowl
Dido Brown
Diamonique
Sevin (christian rap)
Omar Cruz
Kid Frost
etc,,
etc

black-glove wearin dudes - Mr Capone-E and Mr criminal, not really feelin their Hi-Power-movement, but those guys r doin their thing.. great work-ethic, wit a recordlabel releasin exclusive albums by Lil Flip, MC Eiht, Bizzy bone, 40 Glocc, Bad Azz etc

and Mr Criminal is alright i guess

gimme some recomendations,
the best chicano-albums/ese-music..

my favorites so far..
Mr Knightowl -- Jailbird

Sevin - Father Forgive Me

Kid Frost - Fast Side Story

Omar Cruz - Cruzifixion

Mr Knightowl - Ghetto Bird

Rome - My Demo

Most Wanted - Enemy Target

Urban Infantry - Rules & Regulations

I like Slow Pain and Lighter Shades of Brown. Mr Shadow, Royal T and them used to be dope when they had a dope producer like VMF behind the boards.

I love N2Deep (first Vallejo artists to go Gold) and Baby Beesh too, but in terms of style i consider them closer to other Vallejo artists than the average chicano rapper.

I liked Woodie (RIP), Syr Dyno and the Darkroom Familia too.

I have yet to listen to a lot of chicano artists that i barely know of like CLS, Lil Rob, Mr Sancho... I heard their early music is dope.

Slow Pain is alright, i like the song from the "held up" ost,, prod by Fredwreck.

Baby Bash is dope, he went pop wit Akon & Nate dogg-hooks on his albums.
havent checked out his older albums, but i like some of the old stuff he did wit South Park Mexican and Kid Frost.

Jerry Heller was trying to pump up Chicano rap a while back, saying it was the next big thing.

They have an active G-Funk scene, but it's 20 years too late. Sounds like a parody of what's already been done, and 99% of their shit is sounds like it's created in their bedrooms/garages. Quality tells.

Frost gets respect, was around in the west's hey-day, he knows his cruising oldie samples and is an O.G. in the game.
