CEO Offers a Million Dollars For Unreleased Song From Tupac Sex Tape
By Jacob Moore | Oct 9, 2011 | 3:27 pm

As you probably know, there is a Tupac sex tape out there. No one has seen it except TMZ and the tape's owner (and whoever he or she showed it to), but there are already some big offers on the table. There has been a bidding war for the video, but since nobody has been allowed to see it, the offers didn't exceed $150,000.

According to TMZ, one bid just blew the rest out of the water, and it's not even for the visuals. There is an unreleased 2Pac song playing in the background during the tape, and the CEO of NOHO, the anti-hangover drink, wants the rights to that song. Without even hearing it, he's offerred up a million dollars for those rights.

Right now it's not known who owns the rights or if the owner is willing to sell. If the CEO gets what he wants, he plans on using the track as the official theme song for NOHO. It seems like a weird move, but it makes a little more sense when you consider that the CEO (pictured above) is Jay Grdina, a businessman who used to be in the porno industry.

Seeing the thread title, I was about to say "what an idiot", but after realising who he is, it'll be a move that'll work in his favour. Guy made a bucket load from Playboy when he was already a millionaire

With his offer, whether legit or not, he has already gotten himself a shit ton of promotion for him and his company practically for free... as long as his million-dollar offer isn't accepted.

The dumbest part about this is that the song would have been recorded on a CAMCORDER in 1991, with people talking and making noise over it...it's probably going to barely audible, or it will just sound very shitty. Not something that any business can take advantage of, unless he buys the CDQ from Amaru or something.

He really probably wants the video.  Asking for the song will get him the video and he doesn't look like an idoit asking for a 2pac sex tape.  He can then sell the video and song (if it's clear).

If it's clear then he can make like 1746 versions of the track and re-sell thit shit for eternity like Dante did :D

I think if he owns the song, he'll get royalties every time the sex tape is shown/sold.

Its a clever business move all round.

Congratulations. Somebody on this board who actually understands how the music business works. It's not about selling it as an "unreleased track", it's about owning the rights to it so he can get paid. It won't likely pan out. The bulk of Pac's music is owned by his estate and I doubt they will sell it to this guy. They will also probably make life hell for whoever tries to license a porno with his likeness, which is why few serious offers are coming though.

That's not necessarily true.  That would be the case if the song were added to the video itself, like in the Gang Related movie where Pac songs (Lost Souls, How Do U Want It, Staring Through My Rearview) were included during the post-production phase and it's part of the movie.  I don't think that they can collect royalties over a song that happens to be playing in the background during what is essentially a home video.  And even if they could (which they might be able to, since it's not like I'm an attorney), I don't think he'll come close to recouping a $1 million investment for one song on a video that may never get commercially released.

I still stand by my original post, if you read it -- the guy is basically getting some free buzz for his energy drink company on a offer that he probably didn't truly intend to pay out.  No one in their right mind would pay a million for this.

It's you eurofag. There certainly isn't 2 polocks in the world with the same nickname. I especially like the mountain climbing picture, it shows off your rugged side to polock chicks and mountain goats alike. I bet you can't wait to get your kielbasa up in some of that good mountain goat lovin'.

So which of the trollsquad are you? Seeing as you chose to do this under an alias...whos the bigger fag? :loser:
