What shows would you take off the air if you had the power to?
« on: December 06, 2011, 09:39:19 PM »
Finally got some time to talk about this.  Sick & tired of the good shows I like get taken off the air instead of being moved to a different night or a better time slot.  Nearly every show has 2 be on at 10pm >:(   Here's what i'd have removed off the air for good if I could.

Jerry Springer show-no show that takes pride in being the worst show in the history of tv should be on.  Shoulda been taken off as early as 2000.  Don't care if they showed the fighting again.

Simpsons-fell off around 2000.  If they would make all the kids older, the flintstones were capable of this so should the simpsons.  At least high school age or junior high age.

Desperate Housewives

these dumb shows of wives of athletes & rich men in certain cities.

wife swap, strictest parents.  I just hate when new people come into people's normal lives & try 2 fuck everything up with their beliefs.  If I was a child of the actual parents, i'd plot some major revenge when older.

16 & pregnant & teen mom-I feel that those shows glorified & glamourized teen pregnancy at 1st, someone written the show about them as stars.  UN-UH!  Bad enough that teen girls on maury wanna get pregnant as teens badly, thankfully none of them have yet to say I wanna get pregnant so I can be on them shows.

Seeing yesterday's episode of 2 1/2 men, CBS can go pull the plug on that if they were gonna show sommething lame like that.

So what does everyone else wanna take off the air & possibly give reasons why.

Two and a half men -it's never been funny

Family guy - used to be hilarious, wasnt the same when it came back but it get keeps getting worse. I don't even smirk watching this show anymore.

Cleveland show - has never been funny

Allan Gregory - horrible.

Jersey shore - I went on a date with a chick, I asked her if she could met anyone who would it be? She answered pauly d. I immediately walked away and never spoke to her again. This show is fake like every reality show, and kills brain cells.

Glee - this shut disgusts me on a personal level

All formula cop shows - such as csi and such. All style no substance

Two and a half men -it's never been funny

 :o :o :o

For any red bloodied guy who's bedded numerous women, and tossed them to the side it is funny because many can relate. I'm sure you can relate to this show in some way, shape or form? A guy with money, who gets drunk, and has sex with different women, with a voice of reason in the side of his ear (in the form of his younger more moral and principled brother) It's a great script

Anyway's here's mine:

Scrubs: This is simply NOT funny. It's sarcastic, geeky humour with no intelligence, or creativeness in it's comedy whatsoever. A typical "funny" scene from the show is this: A guy in the hospital tells another guy how a certain co-worker is not an angry guy, and that same co-worker then comes out screaming and shouting through the hall in the background..... Or someone says how they hate a certain coffee, then goes and drinks a full cup of it straight afterwards... It's simply a show for Nerds

Reality TV/MTV: American shows are the worst, because they seem more fake and scripted. The industry needs to start paying actors again instead of all this BS

American Idol/X-Factor: It's a primary factor in the decay of the music industry, the authenticity, content and quality, and it needs to stop... The show aspect is sometimes fun to watch for the competitiveness, but the after effect of the winners and runners up flooding the charts is not... If they got their prize money, fucked off, and disappeared, everything would be fine

One Tree Hill: My girlfriend watches this fake, cheesy BS...... Most infamous line I can remember from this trash was "You know what happens when you die claire? You're dead.. That's what happens" as he sat over his girlfriends hospital bed-side. The writers of this show must be from high school

There will be more.. I'll add when I can think

Nah, only people with less than an IQ of 70 find Two & A Half Men funny. You can almost use how much you laugh at that show, and how many appearances you've made on Maury to gauge intelligence these days.

I have an IQ higher than 70, and I enjoy two and a half men. Granted, I don't go out of my way to watch it, but it's a good filler. I'll give you Maury though, in the UK the Maury equivalent tends to be Jeremy Kyle. A show featuring UK trailer trash with lie detectors, and DNA tests on almost every show

In the UK.... I'd take off "Celebrity Juice"

Reason???? I can't stand the fucking host keith Lemon, and his damn corny English accent. I want to punch the guiy every time I see his ugly ginger headed face... Take a look and you'll see what I mean:

He's a dorky, sleezy piece of shyt, and yet all the English love this idiot, and love the show, which has Z-list fame hungry wannabes, and reality TV show cast offs as "guests"... They need to remove that crap

parks and recreation because it's a remake of a remake and its not funny.

Those are the worst... Remakes should be made illegal, Like the U.S. remake of the Prisoner.... They just completely fucked up with that one... So bad in fact that the remake only lasted 4 or 5 shows compared to the original's 19 or so. I've visited "The Village" that was used in the original, and it really is a weird, and unique place and is identical to what it was in the 60's when used to film the prisoner. It had cult status, and was one of the best things I'd watched in a long time. Hooked after 3/4 episodes surprisingly given its age.

I find out they are remaking it, and skeptical at first, had some glimmer of hope, that due to it's sci-fi like model, that current technology would give it some improvements, and polish up certain areas... But nope,, they went Sky TV's "lost" on it all, got some unshaven gritty model-like guy for the main role, and transformed it into some generic BS. It's like the result of what would happen if you mixed Lost/Prison Break/24 & NCIS together,,, drunk a load of water, pissed all over it, mashed it together, fed it to your dog, then pooper scooped it up 24 hours later, and presented it on TV, that would give you some idea of what that remake was like

So I'm with you on that one Raphael

The new series has been hilarious. Its like they switch writers between American Dad and Family Guy every couple of seasons as AD has fallen off badly this series. If you haven't you should check the new Family Guys.

I found it's quite the opposite. American dad has been the better show since it's second season. The new season of family guy has been so unfunny. That episode with quagmires sister for example, that wasn't even comedy, it was bad soap opera. The one where joes son came home turned into another episode where Seth McFarland spews his political views on the viewer. The funniest episode was the one where they went back to the pilot episode. But even then, it was just playing off an earlier superior episode and following the Brian/Stewie travel formula that's been done to death and quite frankly is boring now.

The problem with the show is the secondary characters. None of them are fully formed characters, they're all one note jokes that got tired after the fourth season. That's the difference between simpsons and family guy. Simpsons had amazing secondary characters and was still funny for over ten seasons. The humor in family guy now just isn't well written, using shock value as a complete crutch.

Simpsons needs to stop being made, not stopped from being aired.

Season 3-15 are all good, but after that they start to suck. The latest are just too weird, and out of touch, and all over the place. 13 seasons is enough to keep on TV though when you consider the likes of Friends with their 10 seasons are still on

They should put all efforts into a final movie, and call it a day

I agree with Two and a half Men. It was decent when Sheen was in it, but now? Kutcher is playing the same role as he did in The 70's Show. He's just "grown up" and rich. But still the same IQ. It's played out. I can hardly watch 70's Show anymore. Bring back Sheen or cancel it.
