Exclusive Interview With Damizza - By : Rud - December 12, 2011

Last month we confirmed that Damizza would release his long awaited book "Guilty By Association" for free on December 14th through DamizzaBook.com.

In the days that followed that update Damizza released a statement about the book and his recent interviews via Dubcnn; see Damizza Issues Statement To Outlets Regarding Book.

Since then the radio exec, producer, artist, West Coast representer Damian ‘Damizza’ Young granted Dubcnn an interview in which he discusses the long awaited release and the controversy surrounding his new book "Guilty By Association" which will be available FREE this week.

Dubcnn's own Javon explores the recent chatter that has been growing louder on the forums about Damizza and the two talk about Mr. Young’s place in West Coast Hip Hop. Does the criticism levied at him ever bother him? Damizza is an open book and candid in this conversation.

He says that maybe you must have hate in order to have love but regardless of your preconceived notions you should take a few minutes to get familiar with Damizza.

Exclusive Interview with Damizza (December 2011)

Remember "Guilty By Association" drops for FREE on December 14th through DamizzaBook.com.

See, this is what people don’t realize in most forums about Dubcnn. Dubcnn.com is one of the most powerful websites in the world when it comes to Hip Hop.

In that case... I miss the old Baby Ree sound. I miss the music they put out when they were working with artists like Titus Fuck, Knoc-Turn'al, Kurupt, Shade Sheist, N.U.N.E., Butch Cassidy and Jayo Felony. That music was the shit. It had me looking out for new releases over and over again.

Damn, fucked up how Damizza pay attention to all the negativity there. I mean he also got a lot of people feeling him!! Why just remember the negative stuff ? Anyway If he reads it let me tell him that I've always appreciate his work as an artist and producer, especially him releasing the only Butch Cassidy album, launching some dope new cats and the stuff he did with Nate Dogg (Where I wannabe, Somebody like me, Music & Me daaamn that song has so much soul! and list goes on..) since you know I am a big Nate fan.

I have much appreciated when he updates us true fans on Nate's condition and gave us an adress to show some love to Nate!! That was big!

Anyway, free or not I would have been checking the book (anticipating mostly the Warren G paragraph and some stuff about Nate Dogg).

"There's one more thing I'd really like for you to do, never leave me alone..."

haha

Kind of nice to see someone respond to all the stuff on here though. I think the negativity is for attention but if it's never addressed it just keeps going on. Takes me back to the ol days where the bully picked on someone continually. Finally someone said something or beat his face in...no more problems with the bully, you may end up friends...
Bad analogy but you know what I mean.

Dont listen to these haters, most of these ppl from the UK you talk to some of these dudes over the phone and what you read as some west coast slang, they talk with a heavy ass british accent lol

been lookin forward to this read for awhile.. been listenin to power since it was LA's party station and dj enrie had the power work out.. now, well not so much lol that shit is beyond trash

Darkwing Duck (The Reincarnation)

 really tho,
Damian needs a hug.
i have never experiened somethin more emotional than this. he beats Daz Dillinger by a long shot.
i felt like he was goin to burst out cryin in that interview. like he was sittin in Oprah Winfreys chair.

heres how it works,
for every "hater", there is a "fan",, (it goes wit the territory)
and if ur in showbiz, (artist/producer/actor/director) you need to learn how to divide this seperately,

if I made a "top 5 or top 10 wackest rappers on the westcoast-list" on dubcc, n ur name is in there,, dont let that crap stop you.
feedback can be ruthless, so confidence is what u need

"boo hoo, oh he doesnt like me, or they dont like me"  :boohoo:

are u in the industry cuz ur "wack"? na, i dont think so. ur in the industry cuz artists were feelin what u brought to the table musicaly in the first place, so ultimately theres A LOT of ppl out there that DO apreciate ur music. take taht into consideration, when ur selfesteem is fuckin wit u next time.
Mariah Carey didnt buy beats from you, cuz u were "wack", did she? ... exactly

3 or 4 internet-opinions is nothin. you should know this.
im disapointed in you, Damian  :grumpy:

if u dont feel like what ur doin is "it", and if ur relying on "feedback" from music-listeners this much, ur doin somethin wrong. everytime ur leavin a studio-session, ur supposed to feel like "its teh best song ever and fuck what everybody else say".
thats how u survive, and thats how u evolve --- say it wit me, "im the shit".. i want to hear it, "im the shit"
ya see?

and using this Rud-dude or whatever as a counselor-channel to cry and complain is corny, b.
very corny.  makes u look like a victim  :boohoo:
"defend" urself on the forum instead

"people should respect artists"
^
cry me a river,,
if the music is wack, the music is wack bottomline. so the artist is only accountable for the "negativity". and when ur music is ridiculed, dont confuse it wit overall "respect"

like for instance, im a Kurupt-fan, but u rarely hear me say anythin postiive about his "current" music these days. but that doesnt take away the fact taht i apreciate/respect his body of work and respect him as an entertaining individual in the industry... he still doin his thing, i just dont like the new music that much,, same thing wit Snoop.

what im sayin is,
people shouldnt limit themselves wit censorships in opinons, just cause some melodramatic and sensitive artists are lurking around n readin the posts on the forum. hell no

i never felt Damizza as an artist or a producer (i liked the Butch-album tho), n thats just what it is. deal wit it, for christ sake
but wit that bein said, i wll check out this upcoming anecdote and trivia-book for sure. should be interestin, n make a good read  8)

keep doin ur thang, and like Mista_Rosa said ---- "Damn, fucked up how Damizza pay attention to all the negativity there. I mean he also got a lot of people feeling him!!"
