people really didn't give a fuck about pac being locked up and was not a factor in 95 aside from the album me against the world. a lot of people thought it was over for him.
You mean aside from that whole having the #1 album in the country thing? Sorry, I'll admit Biggie and Bad Boy had 1995 by the balls when it came to hits but Pac was nowhere near irrelevant at that point.

Nobody said he went to prison for getting shot. Getting shot is not a crime. You're not really backing up anything your saying either, it's just words.

not sure what you would like me to back up i guess it was one of those thing where you kind of had to be there jay...it almost sounds like your upset over all this.

i cant pull clips of live tv or radio up from 1995 there was no internet like that, in those days you got your info from  the many different rap mags (beat down, rap sheet, rap pages, the source etc.) the few rap friendly shows which were on the air like the arsenio hall show the box pump it up  lukes peep show etc. syndicated hip hop shows that were played on  urban radio stations etc. i wish i could go back and peep half that shit again...im sure im not the only person on here who knows about these things happening.

i mean post jail interviews first thing he says is "people were running my name through the dirt while i was locked up talking like i was a punk etc." he knowingly admitted it.

Nah not at all. Regardless, if somebody is a socalled relic like blue magic is claiming then why would he be talked about as much as you're saying? And I'm fairly certain we are close to the same age I remember all of this pretty clearly. Blue magic, who thinks no mercy is an amazing album, is just talking out his ass with no real idea of what he's speaking on.

2pac was just getting bigger and bigger, the jail sentence just made him that much more in the public eye. He had a lot of haters, still does. People make jokes at every entertainers expense. But all that does is prove their relevance, otherwise they wouldn't be making jokes in the first place.Sad thing is, if he stayed in jail he'd probay be alive today, but it is what it is. It's still crazy to think he died at 25. He accomplished so much in such little time. Sometimes I think what it'd be like if he didn't die. But who knows. He was a volatile, fucked up person.

all phone recorded vocals...would yall even have cared?

i think it would have probably been the death of his career.

dude was too big an artist to do such shit... he wasn't on the independent circuit like Mac Dre or X-Raided, he was under contract with Interscope so his shit had to be polished. his label would never have allowed him to make such a move unless they saw a massive financial profit to it, and even so they would have found a way to make the shit sound as clean as possible.

it would be more succesful and mainstream as x-raided material.
pac did release one album "from jail" tho, it was "MATW" and went #1
so you have the answer.
pac-haters make me laugh.

let me help blue magic express himself.

what hes saying is that pac was losing street credibilty while locked up also dont forget he got charged with raping a bitch in the ass...you had radio djs saying he got raped.

rappers like chino getting real comfy making punchlines about pac

niggas was on mtv jams making tupac jokes and shit...as the first mainstream rapper to get knocked he was losing mad credibilty and becoming the running joke of hip hop despite his chart topping album until he aligned himself with the hardest nigga in the industry.

shit was a big chess move yall know that.
correct. the dude got charged wit rape and got shot which was not gangsta in 94-95. muthafuckas forget me against the world was his first #1 and platinum album.

his career woulda been done if he did that.  all eyez was set up great though he went from almost being a relic to arguably being the man in 96.

Lol wut? Almost a relic? Wtf? How old are you like 16?
people really didn't give a fuck about pac being locked up and was not a factor in 95 aside from the album me against the world. a lot of people thought it was over for him.

Lmao. People didn't really give a fuck about pac except that multi platinum album he released in the same year, being shot, being on trial and constantly in the news. It's quite evident you weren't old enough at that point in your life to know what your talking about. 2pac was one of the biggest rappers in music at that point. Smh.
no dumbass you weren't old enough. i'm from the east coast only thing poppin for real was anything bad boy in 95 or wu shit. some niggas bumped pac some didn't. when he went to death row everybody jumped on the bandwagon. fuck outta here he went from barely goin gold to 6 million and really if it was a single album it woulda been 3 million. stop playin wit me.

Blue Magic.i am older then you & you are fool of bullshit . please bad boy was still not shit in 95 & east coast at the time was still west coast bitch. Jaydc is back is right about 2pac biggest rappers in music at that point. please 2pac went easily gold with his 2nd album strickly 4 my . but by the time of me against the world 2pac was main stream. please the east coast in the early 90's were a bunch of ignorant closeminded asshole fan. so being east coast in that era ment you were closeminded to everything but east coast hip hop & rap . so east coast don't count for shit at that time . every where elase everybody was on 2pac's & snoop doggs jock while people were just discovering & hardly knowing who biggie or wu-tang was at all. the only big for east coast in 1995 was nas with it was written album.

I've seen a lot of revisionist history on this board lately on 2pac stuff, but the part I bolded is outright fictional. If you really believe the East Coast wasn't holding it's own, you're delusional.

* Ready to Die dropped in September '94. "Big Poppa" and "One More Chance" were released as singles in 1995 and both were certified Platinum that year. He was also featured on "Can't You See", which was another Monster hit.
* Not to mentioned Junior Mafia was popping (both "Players Anthem" and "Get Money" were certified Gold and Platinum respectively).
* Method Man's album dropped in November '94 and was still getting burn in '95. Don't remember "You're All I Need To Get By"? It dropped in '95, was one of the years' biggest hits, certified platinum, and won a grammy
* ODB's album dropped spring of '95. "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" was a big hit
* Naughty by Nature dropped Poverty's Paradise in Spring of '95. "Feel Me Flow" was a pretty big hit
* Raekwon "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx..." dropped in the summer and went gold. One of the most influential East Coast Rap albums of that era
* Mobb Deep "The Infamous" dropped in Spring of 1995

Oh yea, by the way, It Was Written didn't drop until July of 1996; "If I Ruled The World" was released as a single in May of 1996.
