I just heard that "U Ain't Fresh!" is a subliminal diss to Dr. Dre? Why did Quik diss Dre and then work with him a year later on the Training Day soundtrack?

Probably for the same reason why Quik dissed MC Eiht and later was cool with him, appearing alongside him on BET... because they got over it.

I don't remember exactly, but I assume that Dre getting credit for other people's production (whether he was intentionally taking it or mistakingly given it) likely playing a role.

Xzibit had explained to him that that wasn't the case but he made the song anyway and shortly after, he ended up working with him in the studio.

Maybe its a west coast thing, nearly everybody on the west coast since the mid 2000's keep beefing with each other    Shoot, the west coast got the talent 2 dominate again.  Some unheard of west coast artists are better than some well known eastern & southern artists.
