Cool little tutorial on how beats are made. Nothing in it any beginner beatmaker won't know already really but should be interesting for others. Reminds me of those how things are made shows from TV...

Whether or not the beat is good is kinda besides the point. He's just going showing what kinds of elements beats are made of with some random examples... and even says himself "that's too much for most people" a couple of times when he goes a bit overboard.

Oh and I like that term ear candy, gonna start using it. He didn't really arpeggiate those chords tho like he said just played multiple times fast? Well I'm nitpicking maybe but still, an annoying error in a tutorial like this.

NO DISRESPECT to his talent though, check out Crooked I feat. Sean Kingston - Thats Gangsta

EVERY LAST ONE OF ''Y-O-U'' BELIEVE THAT DR. DRE HAS MADE THESE SONG's FOR ''Y-O-U''.
THE REALITY IS THAT THE SONG's ARE ''ABOUT Y-O-U'' !!!!!!

Great vid thanks for posting.

The dope part of this is how he constructs the beat then says his work includes producing the vocal, what is the song about..how can he get a good vocal performance from the artist (instead of just tossing the beat to an artist and moving on). He takes the song from a concept to a completed piece of work like a producer should.
