Its out there.

Personally I like Disc 2 but I haven't listened to it very much yet.

Some cool beats on here, but also alot of wack hyphy sounding shit.

Discuss.

If my math is right, fans have gotten 7 E-40 cd's in the past 3 years, right? It's a lot of 40 water to digest.

Yep, exactly. Theres a handfull of bangers on this album but for the most part I'm not impressed, and pretty disappointed, lol.

To me, Tha Hall Of Game was his last hot album, which dropped in 1996. He was 29 then, he is 45 now. lol.

haven't heard any of the albums fully but he really has some long overdue collaborations on there and some guests I was happy to see who 40 hasn't worked with in years

Andre Nickatina, C-Bo, Lynch/Tech N9ne collab, Spice 1/Celly Cel collab = win

no hyphy shit at all on that album for real... hyphy is dead. and I liked some hyphy shit to be honest (like Dem hoodstarz' Grown Man On)

so far so good for me... i was expecting much much more filler. It's better than the first two RR's and as consistent as the other two RR's. a lot of mobb music with an updated sound, I LOVE it : Cutlass, Outta Town, This Is The Life, Street Nigga, I'm Laced, Be You, Bust Moves. Seriously the production on these tracks is amazing, especially the ones with Sam Bostic involved (Cutlass & This Is the Life i believe).

then you have the "serious"/ "struggle" songs that 40's been making since the beginning of his career ("tired of gettin' stepped on" type songs), it's usually pretty good and this time it still is, I like "Help Me" feat. Mike Marshal (of Timex Social Club and I Got Five On it fame who's been very active for the last 6-7 years) & Go hard Black (the dallas mc i presume) and the religious song with Agerman & Suga-T (two former gangsta rappers turned "ghetto preachers" lol).

then you have the love songs like Grey Skies and I Salute You, nothing groundbreaking but i like it a lot personally

then you have the grimey/gangsta stuff in the same vein as "my lil grimey nigga" from RROS : Hit a Lick, With The Shit, The Other day Ago, didn't like it at first but it's growing on me. With The Shit especially is very nice.

then you have the freaky/sex songs like Scorpio or Let's Fuck. Scorpio is kinda meh and Let's Fuck is good.

you have the usual club bangers with They Point & Function. Two incredibly catchy songs with good features. best club bangers 40 ever did IMO, way better than Snap Ya Finger, U & Dat or Show Me What You Workin' With, Bitch was better tho.

the songs i don't really like are the one with generic ass beat that you can't tell the difference from one another : Red & Blue Light, Gargoyle serenade.

Oh and Warren G's production on "what happened to them days" is incredibly tight. nothing u would expect from G-Dub but tight as fuck. Warren G's definitely back in the production game.

overall I like it a lot, we'll see if it stands the test of time but man for 60 songs the filler rate is extremely low IMHO.

<a href="http://To me, Tha Hall Of Game was his last hot album, which dropped in 1996. He was 29 then, he is 45 now. lol." target="_blank" class="new_win">http://To me, Tha Hall Of Game was his last hot album, which dropped in 1996. He was 29 then, he is 45 now. lol.</a>

TBH I don't really like THOG. I think E-40 tried to cross over with songs like Some Things'LL Never Change and it's incredibily corny (even if musically it was decent). Of course it's a very solid release since it was released in 96 and the standards were very high at the time but from the same period the B-Legit album is easily better IMO, unaldurated sick wid it mobb music. and I think I like even Charlie Hustle & Element of Surprise better than hall of game.

I don't really dig CD 1, lots of boring beats imo, but CD 2 and CD 3 are bangin. "Zombie", "Catch A Fade" and "the Other Day Ago" are my outstanders so far. But I def gotta digest those albums a bit longer and give em a closer listen.

personally vol. 2 is str8 heat!!

vol 3 IMO was terrible!! that religious song with agerman and suga t i mean even tho it had good intentions it just threw me the fuck off!! but then again ever since element of suprise it aint like he's done any themed albums ya know! it's like he's pretty much been doing compilation albums!

vol. 1 was coo but vol. 2 is heat!

STREET NIGGA IS THE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM!

it's like that throwback to late 90's and early 2000's bay area shit!! im tellin you ice cube woulda been dope on that bitch maynE!

vol 2 is the best volume for me, as well

Street Niggas is in my top 5. the hook is fire and the beat is flawless.

volume 3 isn't as good but I like What Happened TO THem Days, Salute You, 40 & Hiero, Be You
