Everytime someone says Johnny J is a dope producer it just prove how great Pac really was, cuz his beats SUCK. Pac turned his crap into hits. Complete opposite of todays artist.

LOL Johnny J's beats are amazing... he did a couple of bland beats but that's pretty much it...  Picture Me Rollin > your favorite producer's best production

Do me a favor and download the instrumental to "How Do You Want It" and listen to how simple that beat is. Pac's energy and that dope hook (written by Pac) by Kci & JoJo made it a hit.

Oh and my favorite producer is DJ Quik...do you really wanna tell me Picture Me Rollin is better than anything Mr. Blake ever produced?

GangstaBoogy -- I agree that Johnny J wasn't as dope as some people make him out to be (especially if you read my post where I said what I didn't like about his production style), and you're correct that Pac's vocals definitely make the beats better (as I can listen to Daz, Dre, etc. instrumentals but don't find myself doing the same with JJ beats), but I wouldn't say that he sucked.  I think that's what some of the people are really disagreeing with.

Not sure why they mentioned Picture Me Rollin'... I never really thought that beat was all that.

Word. And don't forget Runnin' and My Block. Both tracks are also very good.

never really liked how do you want it either but that's one beat out of a thousand that Johnny J has produced. Johnny J is a beast, he's the main reason (with daz) why All Eyez On Me sounds so damn good. he samples a bit too much though but i love how he replayed the songs.

and Crazy, Dangerous which he produced for Nate is one of my personal classics 8)

the way Johnny J flipped that old Kool & The Gang melancholic track is brilliant IMO.
