Go back to the very early 90s. Year after year these guys were dropping classic ish, Spice in particular was a very innovative with his delivery and lyricism and Eihts flow of course was unique and hard hitting.
Now over time and especially on the production side of things they kinda fell off, you could argue Eiht has kinda got back on point. But this shouldnt detract from the legacy they have left the game with.
Where should these guys sit in terms of hall of fame emcees? in terms of their back catologue and what theyve acheived?

The Two are legends! The thing about the two is they don't change and follow the trends.. That's what I like about them.. But that's why some people kinda forgot about them... You can always count on spice and eiht for some hard gangster ish.. Still waiting on MC eihts new album..  8)
I bet Eazy-E is turning over in his grave.. To see that some of y'all done made gangster rap gay.. - DjQuik

big fan of both (specially Spice),
but nah,
they havent really contributed alot to hiphop overall. tehy were justa  part of teh gangsta-rap trend in the 90's. and none of their album sticks out as bonafied 5-mic hiphop-"classics".
Spice 1 and MC Eiht were on the map and had hits, when the buzz wit the "Menace II Society" movie came along,, but thats it

definitely West Coast-legends tho, but they will never be up there wit the Pac's, Big's, Rakim's, ATCQ's, De La's, EPMD's, Nas' and Jigga's

yes i agree with mike on that one, and i love spice's music to death. they were dope rappers who were influential in gangsta rap at one point, and that's a good contribution but that's pretty much it. they get their props for that. mc eiht is a household name and spice is still doing his thing and gets love from the og's & younger cats from time to time (rakim, twista, the game, oj da juiceman)

Mike how can you be a big fan and basically say they didnt contribute anything to the game
Spice especially was quite diverse with his lyricism and flow. Peep him on the track Hard to kill where he murders Meth and Jealous got me trapped where he runs rings around Pac.
The Guy was a rappers rapper and thats why you will find a bunch of rappers giving him his due
Spice between 92-96 was one of the top emcees in the game and he should be mentioned as a hall of famer

spice 1 - debut album , amerikkas nightmare , 187 he wrote was ok . he always had a nice flow , but his weakness is subject matter
he goes to overkill on the guns and bitches and weed subject matter .  Welcome to the ghetto , Playa man , trigger gots no heart , my favs

MC Eiht - i think all three CMW albums were dope , its a compton thang , straight checken em , music to driveby . he was always different from
the average westcoast rappers as far his beats and sound , it had a more eastcoast vibe to me . his solo albums either you loved them or hated them , we come strapped , death threatz , section 8 , n my neighborhood , were the best to me . again you can say his weakness is subject matter just like spice 1 , he tends to stay stuck on the gangsta , struggle , hood vibe .
