kurupt coulda been a dope ass producer..he produced "first we pray", "never leave me alone", and the og "hos a houswife". all classics productions.

Forgot Kurupt produced "First We Pray" and "Never Leave Me Alone" for Nate.  Those joints are certified classics.  But I'm not feeling this song on the origional post for the thread, and "So Much Style" was my least favorite track on Dogg Food.  He's no Daz that's for sure

Least favorite really?

That unreleased song by Kurupt called 40'z & Bud is by Grench & Kurupt. NME gets shouted out on the intro.

are you talking about the Dogg Pound / Pac / Gonzoe / Nuttso cut ?? If so, although i read somewhere that Kurupt & Johnny J had produced it, SHorty B. claims he produced it with Daz. but i believe there are more than one song with this name.

Damn I really don't remember this.

Kurupt's production credits may look impressive but I never believed for a second that he really produced those songs. For 1, you notice how he just mysteriously NEVER produced a song again? And 2nd, Snoop already confirmed Suge used to have his artist jack no-name producers for their beats and take the credit:

yea exactly, hes rapped on maybe, like what? - 3500 (?) songs in his lifetime, and only like 8 or 9 of em were credited to him as a producer, and they all came out during the saem period of time. i call bullshit on that one as well, he has never been a musician or beatmaker. he couldve had "input" in a song-construction, hence being a "producer" in that way though. but if i recall, Daz said somethin about this too, during the DPG-beef. but Kurupt recieved credit as the "producer" for some death row-tracks somehow. and the song "never leave me alone" (assumably prod by kurupt) for nates album, tahts kinda funny - cuz if u think about it,  "these days"  was credited to Nate Dogg as a producer, while it was produced by Dj Quik or Teddy Riley in reality. so u do the math. Death Row had alot of errors in their credits, stemming back to the "doggystyle"-days when Daz was left out

These Days was produced by: Daz & Teddy Riley. Didn't Quik mention this? Also, Just Another Day was produced by Nate Dogg

nah there are three conflicting views on these days 1) the official album credit : produced by Nate Dogg 2) what DJ Quik said in an interview : produced by Teddy and mixed by Quik 3) Soopafly said in some topic on dubcc : produced by him & Daz.

Nate Dogg is also credited for producing Who's Playing Games on his album, and other songs I think like It's Goin Down Tonight....

but yeah as Mike said, the credit business in Death Row was shady, musicians were often left out, we didn't really know who did what

I noticed nobody mentioned "Tattoo Tearz."

2Pac at the end of the song says "Kurupt dropped the beat, we dropped the shit" - that track was another gem. I firmly believe Kurupt was producing at one point as I've read an interview with Organized Noize where they state Kurupt had a hand in some of the beats they did for him but Kurupt insisted they get all the credit.

Also, why would 2Pac say "Kurupt dropped the beat...." on the track if Kurupt didn't do the beat? That's not a case of Death Row doing janky shit in the credits, that's the artist himself shouting out the producer as they often did.

If Death Row were a regular music label those tracks would probaly say something like 'Written and Arranged by Nate , music by whoever' - I think that's why Nate would get a production credit. If he had the full song written and told whoever how to put music to his words.
