mid season NBA impressions
« on: February 13, 2003, 04:41:36 PM »
i'll save us all from another boring ass soccer thread

ok the nba season is half over...what are some opinions....personally i'll still take my preseason pic of indiana(i didnt think they'd be this good) over the kings(though i wouldnt be surprised if portland is in the finals)...
mvp...kevin garnett...has nobody around him plus big all around numbers and a great defender (no way its kobe 3-9 w/out shaq)

coach...rick calisle(detroit)...detroit has nobody really and they are tied with the best record in the east

rookie....amare stodamire...this kid is for real...saw him play a couple times....putting up big numbers and helping the surprise suns....just so ya know kobe, tmac, garnett...didnt put up half the number he is putting up in there rookie season(all had no college)

Miles wasnt much of a difference. That was still a very good trade, its just not wrking out right now.

NO NBA PLAYER in this leauge can carry a team by himself.  So when it comes down to MVP,its  a matter who puts up the best numbers.

For example the Magic, McGrady has a fantastic team around him, Hill, Miller, Garrity.  Miller and Hill together average 32 plus together.
TWolves got the homeboy Wally  and Hudson. and plus at the end of games,  the Twolves go to guy is Wally, they alays give him the ball in a close game at the end, not as a shot creater, but just taking the shot.  Garnett chokes.
so basially what im saying, if the Magic didnt have Miller and Hill in games, Tmacz Magic would have a losing record, if The Twolves didnt have Hudson and Wally for some games, the T Wolves would also lose.

so for MVP, its either between Garnett, Kobe, or Tmac.

kobe and tmac also didnt start in their rookie seasons,so that comment has some flaws you need to work out lol

Alvin Williams is the man.

I hope Kobe wins MVP becuase he's having his best year and playing topnotch.  Tmac really stepped it up this year but I still think the Magic are shit.  If only Shawn Kemp could lose about 85 pounds.? I was amazed at how good the dunk contest was this year.  Desmond Mason and J Rich are both sick.  I hope Indiana makes the final because I think they match up tough for the Lakers.  Michael Jordan should be "coach of the year"

Raptors will make it to the play offs, Carter will be MVP
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

lol@ Everyone forgetting who the second best team (recordwise) in the west is right now. And probably the hottest team in the league, along with the Lakers right now. Mah Spurs are comin yall, dont sleep. Big matchup Friday...Spurs @ Lakers. Should be real good i think. Lakers usually get up for tha Spurs, Kobes playin good, Tim Duncan is quietly playing as good as anyone in the league right now. Too bad ima be at FUKIN work!! lol

Most of this shit is too close to call. I mean, predicting award winners...halfway thru the year, makes no sense anywayz lol. Kobe will contend for MVP, depends on how the Lakers do the second half of the season. I still think Tim Duncan should be up for consideration. There isnt a more consistent player in the league. KG also playin well. I dunno, u can neva tell.
