Even if u could blame the labels for final track selection, I don't think that if Snoop could pool 60 tracks for one album, that anyone with a good ear could find just 12 great ones to make the final cut.His output is just too inconsistent, and really great tracks are rare now
i think after this album....stick a fork in 'em.

Why all the hate for Snoop Dogg tho? People don't really know how loyal and noble this guy really is, it gets deeply shadowed by everything else. He couldve easily pursueded Suge to push back "Dogg Food" and kept their best tracks and beats to himself and could've released "Doggystyle 2" in 1995 or 1996. He could've easily mushed Tha Eastsidaz and the rest of Doggystyle Records and took kept tracks like "G'd Up" and the whole 213 album to himself and bigged up the "Snoop Dogg Brand". He could've easily took all of those Warzone and Dubb Union tracks and put them on his album. Instead Snoop spreads his love and his gifts to all of his homies (from California) and helps put them on. Honestly Snoop is one of the most giving artists I've ever seen in my life (literally). He's done and does so much for his people this nigga will probably see a Hip Hop Humanitarian Award one day (I wouldn't doubt it). So why y'all are nit-pickin u need to remember how much classic material Snoop has given away. Did I hope his albums would've seen some of those Dogg Pound, Bad Azz, and Eastsidaz, hell yeah. But I'm not gonna forget about all of that shit he released around the same time (pre-MySpace, Internet, "Mixtape" era- when Snoop was puttin out new music all of the time).
The worst thing is, for me anyways, he still has potential and still has all the producers and good rappers at his disposal yet he seems to make music with everyone but them. Its good to experiment but theres so much wasted talent sitting all around him and i think hes even wasting his own talent. he proves at his concerts that he can still rap his arse off and he proves on internet songs and mix tapes that he can still rap and can still make the sort of songs that his fans want to hear. i think hes got it wrong, put teh experimental stiff out on teh net and mix tapes put teh good stuff on albums but he do it the other way around. I thought ego trippin had lots of great tracks on there but some of them were the worst songs that hes ever made. MIW was good for what it was but it didnt feel like a Snoop album. I think Doggumentary has lots of great tracks but its a bit like ego tripping, the weird songs and songs that dont fit together and etc. This reggae shit could be teh last straw. Oh i like the album he did with Wiz also.
