Snoop Doggy Dogg's Career just Slowly Is Fizziling!
« on: July 31, 2012, 03:11:10 PM »
i mean seriously! snoop lion?? fuck i mean good for him shit he doin what he wants but us as fans has seen his steady decline in music quality. but im just ONE nigga!

after doggystyle he seriously has gotten worse by the year with shines of brilliance every now and then. last good album was blue carpet treatment and even that had some filler in it. i just dont understand why rappers just can't put together an album with no fucking  wack tracks! i mean forreal ya'll niggaz have ears too! and i understand the major label shit but WTF even back in the day niggaz was on major labels and putting out classic albums.

NO this isn't a cry for golden age to return because honestly i like the state of hip-hop at this moment. alot of underground rapper have been coming up. and west coast is definitely getting it's shine again(whether you like the artists or not). i just feel that these artists can put together a great fucking album!

anybody else's thoughts?

Even if u could blame the labels for final track selection, I don't think that if Snoop could pool 60 tracks for one album, that anyone with a good ear could find just 12 great ones to make the final cut.

His output is just too inconsistent, and really great tracks are rare now

word. the last snoop album i bought was 'blue carpet treatment'. i agree though eggo drippin' was trash. as far as that wiz shit him and snoop is a bad combo and that movie was corny as hell. he coulda made an album and movie wit kurupt or somebody.

i skip one time for your mind and represent on illmatic... well i rarely even touch the album. chronic i skip rat-a-tat tat. infamous i skip drink away the pain. people need to stop putting those albums on a pedestal and think for themselves. ill take real brothas, made in america, nocturnal, and sun rises in the east just to name a few.

Why all the hate for Snoop Dogg tho?  People don't really know how loyal and noble this guy really is, it gets deeply shadowed by everything else.  He couldve easily pursueded Suge to push back "Dogg Food" and kept their best tracks and beats to himself and could've released "Doggystyle 2" in 1995 or 1996.  He could've easily mushed Tha Eastsidaz and the rest of Doggystyle Records and took kept tracks like "G'd Up" and the whole 213 album to himself and bigged up the "Snoop Dogg Brand".  He could've easily took all of those Warzone and Dubb Union tracks and put them on his album.

Instead Snoop spreads his love and his gifts to all of his homies (from California) and helps put them on.  Honestly Snoop is one of the most giving artists I've ever seen in my life (literally).  He's done and does so much for his people this nigga will probably see a Hip Hop Humanitarian Award one day (I wouldn't doubt it).

So why y'all are nit-pickin u need to remember how much classic material Snoop has given away.  Did I hope his albums would've seen some of those Dogg Pound, Bad Azz, and Eastsidaz, hell yeah.  But I'm not gonna forget about all of that shit he released around the same time (pre-MySpace, Internet, "Mixtape" era- when Snoop was puttin out new music all of the time).

sooooo you skipped two songs from 15 or 16 or so tracks on an album?

now please explain to me how you think for yourself because you like lesser known albums?

does that make you a hip hop conossieur? NO! nigga that means you like other fucking albums muthaphukka! just like how i think the album in your avatar was weak as fuck compared to the other two bullys with fullys?

then again it's your opinion that you dont like my opinion but when you say i need to think for myself is fucking stupid.

YOU KNOW WHY?

cuz everybody on here know i talk hella shit about overated fucking so called "classic" albums.

and dont get me wrong im not talking shit or hating on what you said cuz those albums YOU listed are very good albums. But compared to The Infamous(IMO the greatest hip hop album ever!!) i dont think so brah!

UMMM you kinda went waayyy off topic dude. nobody is questioning his loyalty because he definitely has repped the west coast MORE THAN ANYBODY(besides maybe ice cube) I was questioning his musical quality. and how it has slowly fizzled.

i can honestly compare his discography with nas and the path they have traveled since 93/94.

only difference nas's last 2 or 3 albums have been preeetttty good.

The worst thing is, for me anyways, he still has potential and still has all the producers and good rappers at his disposal yet he seems to make music with everyone but them.
Its good to experiment but theres so much wasted talent sitting all around him and i think hes even wasting his own talent.
he proves at his concerts that he can still rap his arse off and he proves on internet songs and mix tapes that he can still rap and can still make the sort of songs that his fans want to hear.
i think hes got it wrong, put teh experimental stiff out on teh net and mix tapes put teh good stuff on albums but he do it the other way around.

I thought ego trippin had lots of great tracks on there but some of them were the worst songs that hes ever made.
MIW was good for what it was but it didnt feel like a Snoop album.
I think Doggumentary has lots of great tracks but its a bit like ego tripping, the weird songs and songs that dont fit together and etc.

This reggae shit could be teh last straw.
Oh i like the album he did with Wiz also.
