As much as I hate Stern I don't really see how much better a replacement is going to be considering the precedent that was already set.

I think Stern was great for about 20 years, the last few years though he was trying too much to get the NBA to not be threatening. Now everyone looks like hipsters; I understand trying to get away from the Hip-Hop image, which I liked, but what's wrong with the players just dressing like athletes.

his replacement will be a clone when it comes to running the league

Stern has done a lot to help the game but basketball is too soft now

He did a lot of good things in terms of expanding the game's popularity, no denying that. But all the corruption under his "rule" is inexusable. Obviously, I'm completely biased cause he let his butt buddy Bennett move the Sonics to OKC as welll.

Fuck Stern.
I wish I could give you +100 for that  :)  But i'm not sold on satan leaving yet.  Selig was supposed to be gone from mlb this year but chose 2 fuck up mlb another couple years.  As long as silver ain't no captain bly dictator like stern is.  Fire all the corrupt refs, refs who hate the clippers, refs who act like they have little man syndrome like them mlb umps, no being a fan of the lakers, bricks & bulls like stern.  No fixing games or even lotteries for the major market teams & hating on the small market teams.  Even though the celtics are a large market stern hates them.  No forcing players to talk to the media or fining them for stupid junk.  Like the time rasheed answered questions but in short answers & not how satan likes it  >:(  No double standards where those on small market teams get fined for stuff they say that's not a finable offense & letting those on major markets say anything disgusting that should be a finable offense.  No fining players for speaking the truth on getting screwed by the refs.
But fine & maybe suspend players who would get away with stuff & get lots of help from the refs if they complain about officiating & make hypocritical comments.  Perfect example=90's new york bricks, they got away with murder in the mid 90's.  But when refs finally called fouls on them, brick players nearly all the time cried to the refs  :'(  They got to those 2 finals in the 90's cause the league & the refs wanted them in there, funny thing is that they still didn't win a title  :D ;D

you know how I know Stern must be an asshole?

he never even bothered to apologize to Jim Rome after making a complete ass outta himself on Rome's show when Rome asked a softball question

he acted like he was talking to the same Rome that got into that Chris Everett incident which was like 20 years ago for fucks sake.  pathetic to see someone in Stern's place in sports to act like an ass over a Q like that.

and the fact Stern has had 2 work stoppages post MJ did not help the league one bit.  and do we really believe Donnehy was the ONLY corrupt ref?  i don't think so...

sadly Bud Selig is the best commissioner in sports....the ones that matter.

All commissioners suck actually.  But i'll admit at least Selig never had another work stoppage since the 94 strike like the dumbass NHL commissioner[3]  And Stern who wants people to think he's a hardass but really isn't.  Its reported that he actually suspended Jordan for a year in a half because of his gambling problem.  Convinced Jordan to lie to the public about his retirement cause Jordan nation would most likely do death threats & maybe carry out those threats if he admitted the suspension.  Some things in life you gotta put 2 & 2 together.  Might explain why stern keeps gravy training jordan.  Makes sure he don't lose in the finals, forced him onto a nba front office job even though jordan sucks at that.

Why I think that, it had to do with the 30 for 30 preview with Reggie Miller.  He said that the pacers & bricks did everything possible to win the championship in the 93-94 season.  Cause he & they knew Jordan was gonna comeback.  How did he know?  There's a few players who retired early but never came back.  I told my brother about this & he mentioned that jordan was privately suspended.  This actually screwed me up on jordan cause I felt deserted when he retired in 93.  I preferred that he played 1 more year then retire in 94.  To make sure that the bricks didn't end up in the finals.  But in 95 he comes crawling back.  Retires in 98 then another comeback years later.  Brett Favre like.  I believe that when a player does retire it should be for good.

Goodell is by far the worst commish

"we want safety....lets have an 18 game season!  i won't tolerate cheating but i'll burn all the Patriots spygate videos and simply hand Belichick a simple fine.  no suspension because we don't want our league to look bad.  I have over 50 thousand pages of evidence against Vilma but all I' can show him in 2012 is Greg Williams deposition saying he is guilty.  oh by the way even though Paul Tagliabu is the one who got me my job to begin with I will appoint him to the Saints bounty case because he and I barely ever see eachother"

David Stern did a lot for the NBA from a financial stand-point.......as far as keepin the integrity of the game, he's done a lot to fuck that up. a lot of corrupt dictatorshipesque shit went down under his rule. i'm interested to see if there will be any real changes, or if the heir to his throne ends up bein nothin but a clone.

I say clone. The only way you'll get change is if the NBA starts to fade like it did in the 70's when the ABA had all the better players and people didn't care about basketball in general.

luckily the college basketball product has been so diluted to this point there will never be ANYTHING to challenge the NBA in basketball

now the NFL?  they gotta deal with college football which is the largest growing sport in the US over the past decade  (mostly because  of the south)

I understand the Spygate cover up; looking into it and draging it out would only have made people question the integrity of victories. It's the same reason boxing promoters won't admit to fixed fights or why atheletes go so hard against denying steroids when they know everyone else is taking them.

To say that a team won 3 Superbowls by cheating, or that offensive play calling was called based on knowing the other team's signals make people feel cheated. None of the team's that were beatn in the Superbowls or along the way want to be handed a ring after losing. The bounty wasn't cheating in the sense that they would have lost the game with out it. Where as if the Patriots did indeed hav video of the opponents practices and called plays based on seeing the same signals in the game as on the tape, and they still only won each game by a kick then it's safe to say they would have lost those games.

It's like getting a copy of the exam a week before the tes, going over it and still only getting a C grade, and then trying to argue that yu probabl would have passed the test regardless. No you fucking wouldn't!
