I also listen to Marvin Gaye, Isely Brothers, Stevie Wonder, Delphonics, Guns and Roses, Ritchie Valens, George Clinton, Kool and Gang, Zapp and Roger, Vicente fernandez, Sublime, and a whole bunch of other motherfuckers, and I couldn't give two fucks where they came from. I live in a city that hates South siders and Northerners but I still listen to Lil Rob and Dark Room Familia. over half if not all the rockers who talk some of the most hardcore shit came from middle class well to do families that never had to face real serious issues in they life.The same people who bitch about Coast, or how real some singer is obviously never been through any real shit because anyone who's been through the tough shit knows that's irreverent, because Music is purely for enjoyment, anything the artist does in they own life I couldn't give a fuck about because it doesn't effect me.

There are some things that people will overlook.  2pac wasn't wearing thug gear when he 1st appeared on the rap scene.  He was wearing african garb on a digital underground video.  Was more militant in his rap songs in the beginning.  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  Biggie was working at a market in his teen years & not a drug dealer like he claimed to have done.  Saw the current tv documentary on 2pac & Biggie. 

Missed Ice-T as im sure he was born in New Jersey or somewhere like that.

Yes, Ice-T's from Jersey.  Eminem's from Missouri near Kanssas City.  Vanilla Ice is from Dallas but repped Miami.    Ludacris was born in illinois but reps Atlanta.  The main dude from arrested development probably repped Atlanta but is from Milwaukee.
