Boo HooPeyton flaking out in the playoffs has happened before.

See, the reason I defend im so hard because I know that no matter how hard I harp about it this sentiment that you made above will be the be all end all of what happened in that game. In 5 years from now (unless Denver wins back to back Superbowls in the next two years) this game will be on the list of another choke by Manning and that's all that matters. The piss poor defensive play is a talking point for a couple days but then it goes away.It doesn't matter that New England had gotten away with illegal contact on play after play in 03, 04 in the playoffs to the point where the league redefined the rules to make sure it didn't happen again. All that matters is Peyton choked against Brady in the cold.It didn't matter Harper decided to go up the middle against Pit instead of to the side line against a goal line offense for a TD in 05. All that mattered was Peyton choked again in the playoffs.Didn't matter that Indy's D couldn't stop SD even when Rivers and Tomlinsin were taken out of the game, all that matters is Peyton choked.Remember how bad Sanchez is at everything? Well he had a game winning last minute drive against the Colts D in 2010. But if Peyton wasn't a choke in the playoffs it wouldn't have happened.Didn't matter that Peyton threw a perfect ball on the hands of his receiver yesterday and uncalled pass interference caused a tip drill for an INT. All that matters is Peyton choked again with another pick six in the playoffs. It doesn't matter that Peyton has a higher passer rating in the post season than Tom Brady. All that matters is the team win/loss records. The bottom line is that as far as I can see with my own two eyes; teams that win in the playoffs win because the team around the QB plays as well or better than the QB, and I'm hard pressed to find a winning record playoff QB that wins despite a poor effort from the rest of the team.Show me a game when the run game was working, the o-line was protecting, the WRs were getting open downfield, the defense was creating stops and or turnovers, and Peyton Manning didn't win that game? And show me a game where the run game was shut down, the o-line was giving little time, the WRs weren't geting open downfield, and the defense was letting up big play after big play for TDs, and great QB play made the difference and caused a W. Show me one game in the playoffs by any QB where that happened and I'll admit that a QB can win a playoff game on a team not playing well.
As a Cowboys fan, Ive had to hear Steeler fans, 49er fans, shit even Raider fans, Eagles fans, and of course Giants fans tell me that Romo sucks and whoever their qb that year is, is better than Romo, because he throws picks at inopportune times sometimes and fumbles. Of course, they never note that the Cowboys have basically asked Romo to put the whole offense on his back at all times, overcome horribly rated Defenses, questionable playcalling, overrated talent on both sides of the ball, and what seems like a curse lately with injuries. Not to mention, probably the most important of all, the lackluster blocking, which has gotten him killed by injuries (cracked ribs multiple times - which he was playing through in the last game vs Washington , shit too many injuries to count) even though hes very elusive. So I understand that the team and officiating can blow it for any qb and fans and pundits jump on that. I do though, dont think Peyton is that much better than Brady, as you make it out anyway. Theyre not the same type of quarterback in the first place. But at the end there, it seems like youre saying no qb can put a team on his back, and Peyton is the only 1 to actually do that? Or am i reading that wrong. Bottom line - I dont think this Broncos game is indicative of necessarily Peyton's inability to win a game under tough circumstances, just that he isnt as invincible as I read you making him out to be.
Or maybe Peyton shouldn't have thrown three picks.
