Movie Review I did for "Chances Are" from 1989 one of my favorite childhood movies -- great love story, 80's love songs, has a fascinating take (and very 80's) on reincarnation

so I saw this Obsession movie that just came out a few months ago and supposedly its got good reviews

I don't see the appeal of it at all

don't even know what genre to put it in

Breaking In (1989)

Crime flick with Burt Reynolds playing an older experienced thief who takes on an apprentice. It's a bit of a weird movie with strange humour especially the ending but it was a decent watch overall.

I think I watched that movie when I was going through a Robert Downey Jr. movie watch phase like 15 years ago, don't remember a lot about it might have to watch it again.

yeah, those kids movies were very well done.  The original Monsters movie was a great comedy, with top comedians like Billy Crystal, the humor is like a Seinfeld episode.  Steve Beschemi is another great comedic, method actor.  The characters in these film are hilarious.  (voice actors)

Minions as well.. the humor is professional and it's not cheap humor like you would expect from a kids movie.  Adults can appreciate. Of course, an adult isn't just going to sit at home alone and watch but they will definitely enjoy seeing it when the kids have it on.

Raising Cain (Director's Cut) (1992)

Lately I've been into only watching things I haven't seen before and this is a lesser known film by Brian De Palma (Scarface). It throws you in all kind of different directions. John Lithgow puts in an epic performance. Worth seeing for sure.

heard it was too "woke". like he feels guilty for winning the battle, and a trans character is the true warrior

the trans actor ended up playing a character that was not in the book..he was actually in another book by the same author but incorporated into the film for some reason, maybe because he was trans?...the other thing the Greeks didn't like was that Helen of Troy was played by a black actress...the Greek community is notoriously racist so that wasn't a surprise...I enjoyed the film but you can definitely say it is woke

In original Greek mythology and ancient texts Helen of Troy was not black. I'm all for black actors getting chances but this is not the type of shit they need to pull. Didn't they have a black Disney princess or something a while ago that also used to be white? James Bond is not black. If we're going on this route we might as well cast a white man as the next Shaft.
