i was today listening to these 3 classics today and the verses on these songs where so spot perfect it just kills me how snoop always ruins a good vibe in the dogghouse, first he destroyed tha eastsidaz which i'll never forgive him for but later down the line he bought that sound back with e-white and crew and yet he ruined destroyed this moment as well with his own ego and shit albums that came afterwards.

remember when Doggystyle All Stars dropped, we were all kinda disappointed listening to it, some shat on that album hard. but I liked the soul samples and there was good chemistry with some of the members. wish they had placed the Do Do G-Mix (from Welcome to tha House Vol. 1) instead of the original one. now listening to it it's a very good album with a few filler tracks. especially compared to what followed from Dogghouse...

Dogghouse America, Not Like It Was, Nite L.O.C.'s, Hey You, Raised on tha Side, Unfuckwittable, Just Got Carried Away were the standout tracks for me.

Snoop did a lot more good shit than he fucked up.  Dude has classics for days.  I think he must have the biggest catalogue in rap music (good and bad) but if you take all his good songs, he has like 5 or 6 classic albums put together, at least.

no one's saying snoop doesn't have a bad catalog, but this is about how he fucks people over, especially tray deee if u listen to the song friends on tha eastsidaz album when tray deee says "now we hell of a close And y'all kids, my kids, so we family now Cause I could never see you doing bad without And that's real" i mean if a og like tray deee says something like that, that's coming straight from the heart from a tough character like him and yet snoop still screwed him over and any artists his had relations with. his always an amazing vibe with these guys but tray deee was right when he said how can u have songs like from the chuuuch to palace and beautiful and call yourself an artist from the west!

Yep i remember that album getting hated on when it came out. Yeah, at the time it was a little disappointing for sure. I thought there were some weak beats and didn't overly like the souls stuff, etc
 I just recently revisited that album and i was really really felling it! i didn't skip one track and shit was soundin classic to me. Dunno if its because iam older or just cos Snoop don't make shit like that any more(i miss him over some of those style beats and doing music with Soopafly)
 But yeah its a good album for sure.

 But yeah its a shame what happened to tha eastsidaz, war zone, Soopafly never getting an album out, no Warren-g production on the 213 album, some really whack fucking tracks on the dogg pound reunion album, Kokanes album not being released, Wasting having dudes like Mc Eiht and Jt the bigga figga around, leaving of tracks like "territory" and "long gone" off of "the blue carpet treatment" album, replacing Daz with silk tha shocker on "gangsta ride"  etc.

 But as mentioned, dudes got a classic catalogue.

Snoop had a helluva run from 98-04. People remember the standout songs but don't forgot the dope shit he did in between: Baby Boy, Do You Wanna Roll, Life in the Projects, It's the DOG, On the Boulevard, Bring Back That G Shit, etc.
