not surprised if it's true, MMG always come with lush productions with live instrumentations, etc. Stalley's projects should have dope productions even though I'm not too fond of his rapping style (I prefer G-Side's original take for Swangin')

haha i wouldn't have been surprised though, I know Quik does a lot of A&R stints and hangs out with engineers from famous camps (i.e. Guru from Jay-Z's camps), and I can see Ross reaching out to West Coast legends since that's what he grew up on.

But forreal, MMG has the best production, it's no surprise they wanna use Quik. Wale had Terrace Martin playing on the Ambition album. MMG would put Quik to good use.

I really like that 'Swangin' track, very smooth 

Stalley is nothing special though.  Incidentally, he sounds a bit like Gift Reynolds from Quik's last album.
