Thing I always wanted to know about Quik was the origins of his brief feud with Everlast from House of Pain.  Anyone know the deal behind that one?

Dumb shit from Everlast part . Everlast calls out Quik on one song..Shamrocks/Shenanigans, on album version he cut off the diss..he says "you make me sick, like strawberry quik" but on Remix EP , DJ Muggs accidentally uses the original verse ""You make me sick, like DJ Quik"..

Quik responded w/ Can't Fuck With a Nigga  on Menace II Society soundtrack .

Of course Everlast didn't respond.

2 me, "Safe + Sound" was a masterpiece made by DJ Quik. He also mixed and polished "All Eyez On Me" after a solo album which showed what type of complete artist he was. Respect to DJ QUIK for his career, hi sworks, his vision and his music ;)
The spot got shook, it was hell below | Is that Futureshock ?? | Hell, no, it's Death Row !

thanks for the interesting read.

i consider around 95-96 to be when quiks production hits the next level, where he crafts a trademark sound with g-one and rob bacon. the 96-2000 period is golden.

Matty, thanks man!! you are a OG in this forum !!

For me .. DJ Quik best work after Rhyth-a-lism is the 2ND II None "Tha Shit" album.. man DJ Quik is nuts on these album sessions..every track is a bomb..full of details.. i bumpin this 2nd II None hidden album every week .

KK spit fire on that album and D sings melodic chorus perfectly on this album

Safe and Sound is great man..top 3 album by Quik. It's changed rap music..but they was released the 2nd II None album on 95 along with S&S.. that would be wonderful ..

DJ Quik is a visionary when it comes a studio.

Wow, reading all of that, DJ Quik has had terrible luck (or demons  :-[) his whole career but his talent is what defines him.

His second name is "Marvin", not "Martin".. he was mad at Wikipedia for that mistake (now it's correct).

The killing of the little kid is a terrible story, recently I read an article about it and the family of the kid commented it... I'm a fan of Quik's music, but in his life he did many mistakes, some really tragic.

By the way how come Quik never speaks about his grandson being killed? That is really a horrible story.
Quik always talks about his son all proud, but never about her stupid daughter.

He said a little somethin' about her in her interview with This Is 50.

LOL yeah the nigga asks him "do you have any regrets?"

And Quik says "I wish I wore a condom with my first baby momma"

And then the nigga says "but you love the daughter, right?"

And Quik says "She cool."

And the nigga says "You didn't answer the question"

Quik is a funny mofo.

Just listened to the track "Total Auto" and remembered that there's a couple more entries to add to this list:

1. Suge Knight beats up AMG (Quik revealed this in a recent interview, but I think he's talking about it on Total Auto)

2. Donzelly RU leaks All Eyez On Me in advance of its release and also gets beat up by Suge (mentioned on Total Auto for sure)

Are there any pictures of Big Jake on the internet?

I knew about the Big Jake murder, but I hadn't realized that Quik was so close to him. It's interesting how on the 92.3 Dedication to Big Jake, Quik says "I do not support East Coast hip hop." He dissed Puff in a few more songs later, probably still mad about this. "Leaving you overexposed like Puff" "The marks in them sheer shirts that be in the source."

Is Quik sill mad at Puff? The only time I can think of him mentioning Puff in recent years is in the DubCC interview where he says "Diddy, I love your vodka."

Is his name Dante or David?

How did he hit the boy? Was the boy crossing illegally? What happened? That's traumatic. Rest in piece little one.

The song, tha shit, the beat is cool. I didn't find a full album.

The crips attended the after party? Or the show? How did try insult him? So, try literally stomped him out til he died?

That label was nothing but the damn devil.

Where do we hear this Danny boy album. Damn shame he ended trying out for American idol. I'm not a fan, but, is love to hear the production u speak of.

His name is David Martin Blake..."Dante Blake" is a pseudonym used by him.

He hits the kid accidentally . Problaby the kid crossed the street running or outside the crosswalk.

Put on Youtube "2ND II NONE UNRELEASED TRACKS" .. there got all tracks

This is a after party of Source Awards, the Crips attended to the show because Snoop Dogg was performed along with DJ Quik.

They insulted Quik, while he performed..So Quik was it to face them..one of the dudes steals Quik cap..and the brawl begins...the crips get away but one of them (Kelly Jamerson) was caught.
On the news, were reported responsible the Tree Top Pirus entourage and Death Row Members ( Suge bodyguards ) ..but on police reports claims DJ Quik, HI-C , Zeek ( Quik's friend ) and Donzelly RU ( OG Compton TTP ) for the act .

Put on Youtube, Danny Boy "Its All About Time" all tracks available here !!

good looking. man. im sorry i discredited you. you know your shit. ill peep the tracks later.

Do U or Any1 Have An MP3 For The Everlast Tracks?
