Daz & Snoop overpraising Puffy on tv in Nov 1996
« on: December 05, 2013, 03:57:15 PM »
too much east coast dicklickin :o

Snoop and Daz sound incredibly positive towards Puffy in their November 1996 hosting of "Yo'.
Listen to how they elaborate on Puffy's role in the biz.
I found that quite suprising when you consider this is just 2 months after the Vegas shooting and duirng the fresh release of the Makaveli album. And what must Suge have thought about this?
Makes me wonder what they feel when they look back on this today 16 years later.
What's yall thoughts on this?

Didn't we hear Snoop sayin in interviews back in 1996 that BIG and Puff were his homeboys?

They are just reading from the monitor.

It's kind of cool cause even though Daz was double platinum by that time with the Dogg Pound, and in the prime of his career you can tell he is still shy on camera.  That was part of the charm of the Snoop and the Dogg Pound in the early days is that they didn't really act like celebs, but as Kevin Powell put it they were "organic" just like homies from around the way.  Snoop however, had grown used to being a star and you can see how he's much more natural and even tries to big up Daz and make him feel more comfortable.

You got to love DJCotton, he has so many great videos documenting classic moments in hip-hop history.

From a 2pac and Suge perspective Snoop and Daz certainly lacked loyalty in this instance.  But at the same time, you have to understand that Snoop was coming off a Murder Trial and wanted to take his life in another direction.

kinda ironic how they praise Puffy at first and Snoop later say they're gonna show "2 of america's most wanted" videos which clowns Puffy lmao. that's as if BG Knocc Out & Dresta were hosting Yo Mtv Raps shouting out DPG and later playing "DPG/K".

As for them praising Puffy, as Infinite said, they're reading a monitor, you can clearly notice it as they aren't continuously stopping and saying "namsayin" of "nahmean", lol. there's a stark contrast between what they say about Puffy and what they say later, you don't know where Daz is going really with what he's tryna say lol.

also even though they become estranged by the death row / bad boy situation, the beef got squashed after pac's passing, and Daz said in interviews that he hung out with Big & Mase in LA after Pac's death. they were cool before Pac's beef too, just like Suge & Puff were cool. but even with all that, it's still not a good look, especially knowing that Big got them shot at with the NY NY video thing.

I'm not much of a Puffy fan myself but I think it's about time that people get over this shit already.  If Snoop has admitting to saying this shit on radio when Pac was still breathing, why be shocked when he's doing it like two months later?

yes but you also had Snoop dissing Biggie on unreleased songs from 1996  "you're fat, your wack plus you got one dead eye"

and we all know how Daz felt about Biggie when he was making NY87 in late 1995

Maybe you cats from those weirdo'd-out 2pac forums can realize that they had nothing to do with 2pac getting killed or robbed. Also, 2pac was just a rapper. Stop acting like everybody owes him his acceptance, loyalty or some shit like he's some figure. He was a rapper. They knew him way better than yall know any of them, btw do any know them? Have any of ya even seen or talked to 2pac or Snoop in person? Yet ya know so much, lol.

There's always been a criminal undertone to the entertainment business, that's it. The same shit ya praise Suge for is the same thing that was around Puff. As much as ya think they have control over it they really dont. They're artists.

Also, again, nobody owed or ows 2pac anything. 2pac is not the standard of approval and nobody owes him anything - especially coming from guys online that dont even know these guys or are them to know why they do certain things.

Just let 2pac RIP & leave it that. Go back to 1996 or one of thoe weirdo 2pac forums if you like to discuss how evil Puff is, how godly 2pac was & how everything is a conspiracy.
