DJ Quik is WITHOUT QUESTION a genius. If Quik is not a genius, then no one in hip hop is a genius. Fuck that shit. Quik = GeniusTupac = GeniusOther people come close, but these two are the only true geniuses in rap music in my opinion. It's funny how there's a thread every month here saying Quik ain't that good. The only reason these threads emerge is that so many people here accurately appraise Quik's talent, and this riles up the haters. Niggas go and listen to Under The Influence, hear a couple wack songs, then get worked up and deny that Quik is a genius...come on now, that's madness. Quik is the greatest producer in the history of hip hop and one of the greatest rappers as well.
Daz is a genius, not Quik.
im not disputing your shit but elaborate for the people on why dazs artistry is at such a higher caliber then quik so they dont think your just trying to get a rise.
so your saying that pain is probably the greatest inspiration for great art basically?
thats like comparing wu tang clan aint nothing to fuck with to 93 till infinity or something.give me a better song comparison
this may will offend most quik fans (and i´m one)but i dont think that quik ist that much of a genius, the thing is, hip hop is a very simple art (prdocuing, ivolves no really instruments etc) quik may be a dope RAPprdocuer, but as a musician he is a 5/10if you listen to REAL music, u will know what i mean, and even in hip hop there are people who maybe are morge gifted when it comes to beats and instruments etc like ryan leslie or raphaeld saadiq..nowdays just because u can play a little instrument, a few accords on a piano/guitar doestn make u a genius, most qui fans are so impressed by the quik grooves, yeah for a hiphop artits, pretty mellew, if you listen to real jazz/blues, nothing specialso he is maybe DJ QUIK America'z Most Complete (RAP) Artist producer (maybe in the top 5)what you think..

Kurupt said that shit... Daz was straight suicidal in those days... that's why his joints were so fire... his mind was in another world.. he was "On Top of the World!..." as he says at the end of the Dogg Pound record but at the same time shit was moving so fast and in all directions, he was high and low... I mean he was just livin on a level that Quik ain't really seen.I mean, Quik was barely even on the B-team over at Death Row Records. How can Quik be on Daz level when they were over there chillin on the same label and Daz is fucking Royalty and Quik ain't even on the B-team? Quik was over on the bench somewhere behind the Lady of Rage and Soopafly.

He was the last man standing atop a crumbled empire in 1998 when he released Revenge Retaliation and Get Back. There he was with the whole world tuned into Master P and No Limit Records, the lone man out West holding shit down still making gangsta shit at the same fuck quality that Death Row was making it in their prime. There was Daz in the Middle of the East West Beef, knockin over buildings and shit in "New York, New York".Me and my homies in jr. high were walking around throwin' up the DPG symbol when we'd pass by each others classes. We sure as hell weren't hollerin out Quik's name. We were sittin up on Saturday mornings in the Fall of 1995, watchin Kurupt and Daz give interviews for the new Dogg Food album set to take flight, after the label had just gotten dropped by Time Warner in the midst of a firestorm. What's the hardest shit Quik has ever made? Daz made the hardest West Coast hip-hop that's ever been made and nobody can fuck with that. His beats go harder than any beats that have ever been made out West....there's some evidence...
Daz is not from the Rollin' 60's.
