Dogg Pound/Rage - We Rock Mics
« on: February 07, 2014, 09:08:50 AM »
some 1 posted this in another forum i thought since u here live in the past u might know

here's a scan from the Sept 1995 The Source issue from the "Fat Tape Section".
listed is a Dogg Pound / Rage song called "We Rock Mics".

does anybody know what song this is?
could this be an alternate title for "Do What I Feel", "Me In Your World (original)" or "Got My Mind Made Up (original)"? or is there a version of "I Rock Mics" that WideAwake released, but with an additional verse by Rage?

love these posts from old Source mags... good find.

If it was September 95 then I am thinking that it was "Do What I Feel".  That that was the O.G. name for the song before it came out on Dogg Food.  Also nice to see Dove Shack getting some love although I fail to remember the song mentioned there, it must not of been one of the cuts that stood out to me personally.  Also the "My Block" song from Pac that made it on the Show is one of Pac's best songs ever.  The Show project, soundtrack and movie is one of the best projects hip-hop has ever produced.

In the feb 1996 source they mention the OMS compilation and Pac and biggie's "runnin" being on it like three different places

Funny that is what I was thinking about when I read this, the song featured RBX,kurupt and snoop. I thought it was going to be in the last meal or some soundtrack after but it never materialized.

Truth! But boy was I disappointed when I realized that half the artists only appeared on the skits. ;D

Classic Warren G production with the Twinz spittin heat and Bo Rocc on the hook like it's supposed to be. 8)

Not the same song. Daz is sayin "Dillinger and Young Gotti". They got those nicknames from Pac in '96 and Rage isn't even on that song.
"Hip Hop was better off when it was just Dre, Scarface, and Esco"

Yeah but thank god Russel did false advertise because I probably wouldn't have bought the album if Id known the Snoop track was just a skit, and thus the greatest summer of my life would not have had the proper soundtrack to go wit it!
