The Basement was dope and I bet my account that 99% of this forum would agree, the first post in this thread proves that

Rap City only got weak when they started bringing lames like Nelly on there and when they dropped "The Basement" in 2005, facts.
No,Basement was wack . The Basement was wannabe Yo MTV Raps . I bet 99% if forum did not watch Rap city before the basement like I did . Staying in one place is wack compared to going to other city's & to the rappers hood to interview them . That is how rap city originally started out .  Chris Thomas, Prince Dejour , Joe Clair, & Big Lez were all better host then wack ass Big Tigger. That is just the facts you don't like to hear. you were not old enough to watch original rap city or yo mtv raps so you have no clue what you are talking about . stop bring Nelly in to this hater . He had nothing to do with it.

Rap City might have been at its best back in that time period they went to other hoods but that's also what Yo! did with Fab 5 Freddy so I guess that also made them copycats? The Basement was still dope, nothing was wack about it sonny  8)
Fab 5 Freddy & YO MTV Raps did it first. So rap city was the copycat. Yes basement was wack & was the  beginning of the end of rap city . During the basement rap city went from 2hrs to 1hr & had some many reruns it was sick . The ratings dropped during the basement era. these are just facts . Rap City should have stayed the way it was . the basement started even playing a lot of wack music.

exactly Yo! MTV Raps did it first so that makes the original Rap City a copycat  :stupid:

The Original Rap City was still better then The Basement. Original Rap City had real interviews & we got to see artist real as it can be . Plus when they had artist on original Rap City the played mostly nothing but artist videos for 2 hours. So you got to know the artist unlike the Basement .WE would never seen Bone Thugs in their own hood if not for the Original Rap City  or see 2Pac foot race John singleton . The original Rap City was the first rap show to have Eminem on it & & it was on streets of Detroit .The Historical Biggie interview he did right for Rap City before he died. Rap city at video shoot for Method Man bring the pain. Nas's first interview was on Rap City.

The Basement was cool but rap city was doper before that. Back when they did the top 10 or 20 on fridays and you could see anybody pop up. You cant expect Schoolboy Q fans to know this tho cuz they were either newborns or not even alive yet.
Sometimes I need reminders why I bother to rap
Then I think back to cats who only father is rap
I dead beats, but you niggas is Lou
Im Uncle Phil gotta give em somethin real
cause If I dont who will
