Good Times, Eastside LB and Journey With Me are classic summertime tracks.

Yeah really good. I remember back when it came out we were pretty young like 13 or 14 or something and a mate of mine got it. We didn't like it at the time thought it was too soft. But i got it later and now its a person fave of mine.

Yeah, Warren was on fire at the time.   Too bad the album didn't blow up because that "Round And Round" joint is catchy and could've blown up and turned the album platinum... Just like "Summertime in the LBC" should of made Dove Shack platinum.

...I mean I was a Warren G fanatic at the time I didn't even know the album was out until one summer day in 98' I was just browsing through the record store and stumbled upon this album.  Ended up bumping it all summer long, even my white friends who weren't big hip-hop heads loved the album.  Same with the Dove Shack album I didn't even know there was an album from them I just stumbled upon it at the record store months after it was actually released.

Even Russel Simmons admits the label fucked up marketing when it came to West Coast acts, he especially mentioned Warren G and the G Funk imprint.

this, warren was just marevelous on the boards, the only song i don't really bump is Hollywood cause I think the hook is annoying but you have all kinds of vibes throughout the album : summertime laid back type of vibe ala Round N Round, straight up funk vibes ala Jump ta this (my favorite warren g production I think), grimey/nightime vibe but with warren g's lackadaisical style (Sorry I kept You, first round draft pick), nostalgic vibes with Eastside LB and Journey Wit Me (one of my favorites). oh yeah never really felt 4 Eyez 2 Heads, always skip that song, Soopafly didn't bring his A game for this song.

this is the shack is nowhere near a classic though, and that's coming from a Dove Shack fan, too many useless skits, and hit or miss songs, love Bo Roc as a rapper and singer though, and definitely some memorable cuts, but not cohesiveness and consistency like on Conversation. the album lacked Warren G's imprint, I mean I like JMJ and Keith Clizark but it's not to be fucked with the G Child.

Almost every song on this bumps. One of the best pure G-Funk albums ever made. Some of the smoothest beats you'll hear.  8) And about 4 Eyez 2 Heads, it's a great song. The dark sounding beat contrasts to the other summertime smooth joints.

No doubt, This is the Shack is not a classic and not on the level of Conversation.. I was just saying that it should of blown up, because they were sitting on a mega-hit with "Summertime in the LBC", that could of been another "Regulators" if it was set up right.

The Dove Shack album just had some loose ends that needed to be tied up.   I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with those god-aweful skits, that really dragged the album down.   If they could of just lost the skits, and tightened up some of the loose ends they could of had a West Coast classic.
