Kendrick & Jay Rock on SNL
« on: November 16, 2014, 07:33:55 AM »
Did anybody catch Kendrick Lamar and Jay Rock performin' on Saturday Night Live this weekend? It was dope to see them perform "Pay For It".

Oh yeah, Kendrick looked like Method Man when he performed "I".

Yeah. dope performance, especially "Pay For It"..

Peculiar thing though: Woody Harrelson introducing Pay For It: "And once again, Keeendrick Laaaaamaaaar!..."
First Jay Rock doesn't get recognition in the Dre Beats commercial as they play Kendricks verse, and now his new single gets introduced without mentioning his name, but Kendricks..?

Marketing scheme to ride off Kendricks name/fame, or ignorance on Harrelsons behalf?

Woody Harrelson probably wasn't even told who Jay Rock was. He didn't thank him at the end either. I just read that Kendrick was payin' homage to Meth with the hair and the blacked-out contacts he had on when he performed the first time because "Tical" was released 20 years ago on saturday. That was nice.

nice homage indeed, he could have worn an LA Dodgers lakers too since today marks the 15th anniversary of Tha Streetz iz a Mutha (and 2001, lol) and K. Dot is a known Kurupt fan  8)

thats odd but more than likely a marketing scheme. i would bet anything a lot of people googled kendrick and the name of the song after that.

I thought they would at least say his name at the end, but they didn't.

Still good promo for Jay Rock regardless.  Even if they don't know who Jay Rock is, they'll find it on iTunes and he'll make money off of it.

yeah Rock may not get the notoriety by them focusing on Kendrick with the Beats commercial and now this but he's definitely seeing alot of $$$ off it

plus if it helps get his album out that much quicker, fuck it
