Theo, i'm asking you this because you seem to be the ultimate Quik fan, do you ever find Nick Cannon So West Coast in CDQ?
nobody cares bout DJ Quik Yeah care about dr dre or his headphones?Jump in a bandwagon Quote from: LostAngel on August 02, 2015, 03:44:00 PMTheo you're trying too hard. If the name of the album is Compton it doesn't have to have every goddamn rapper who said Compton in it's songs since the beggining of the time. Yes Quik makes dope beats and he's representing CPT hard, but do you believe the City or the album with the same name or soundtrack for that movie would be on the same level if he released it instead of Dre? C'mon.yeahhh it must have texas white racist boy rapping all over the album...this represents compton 100%

I know eiht and tray deee are locals. But i dont say they are better than people like dre who has accomplished so much and launched superstars careers. Unlike quik. All u quik fans are emotional bitches just like salty quik.

Haha I'd say opinionated is more like it cuz I can't say a single emotion is driving me to have a personal opinion...I'm just voicing it even tho when I do it usually is followed with an emtional response like Name calling...I'm just saying success doesn't equate to quality...I can almost guarantee your not a fan of Birdman but he's been responsible for many artists and has had success in a multitude of ways...or if you were to compare fetty wap to someone like locksmith, fashwan, mykestro or whoever else in the underground at least from a lyrical standpoint it's one sided till you realize how many phones ring and trap queen plays...don't let the sales and the endorsements bleed over into the debate of who's a better producer...Dre is a better business man and made a lot more money but quik to me has made better music that's an opinion I hold to and one that's worth being considered
Theo you're trying too hard.
Dre vs. Quik is a silly discussion. If you measure them in terms of wealth and influence, Dre is obviously superior. But if you're asking who is the better producer, there is no question: DJ QUIK. How can anyone objectively listen to their two bodies of work and think Dre is superior? He has a few classic beats, sure, but Quik has an enormous catalogue filled with dope music. It's way more versatile and virtuosic. Quik is a genius, Dre. is just a decent producer who made a few solid tracks.

After writing this post, I realized that the Quik vs. Dre debate is kinda like Pac vs. Biggie.Biggie was a dope rapper who made a few classic tracks, no doubt. But his corpus cannot even remotely compare to Tupac's, which is filled with hundreds of the greatest rap songs ever written. Dre and Biggie are talented, but Quik and Pac are the real geniuses.Dre and Biggie each have about 10 classic songs to their name, whereas Quik and Pac each have more than 100.
