They need to ask Lydia Harris if she wants to produce this movie #joke Anyway, I dunno if this is a good idea to annonce a sequel, now. Of course it could be a good story focusing on Death Row, with a lot of facts and stories that can be told, from Dre/Snoop success to 2Pac death. But, I definitely cant understand a movie based [only] on DPGC family. Title ? "Ain't Nuthin But A "G" Thang" for the success of G-Funk Death Row developed and sold by millions (The Chronic / DoggyStyle) and for all the drama and controversy (Snoop charged with murder / politic debate denouncing gangsta rap / 2Pac death).
The spot got shook, it was hell below | Is that Futureshock ?? | Hell, no, it's Death Row !

DPG was life to me growing up so I'd love to see this. But from a business standpoint - terrible idea. Nobody is rushing out to the theatre to see the Daz & Kurupt story. A Death Row movie hell yeah but not Dogg Pound.

Yeah Tha Dogg Pound are no way near known well enough outside of hardcore rap fans to warrant having a whole film based on them.  Even a movie based on Snoop's come up wouldn't be a success.
The natural thing now is to do a film based on Death Row Records and everything that went on during those years.  I hope they do it.

PEOPLE ARE FAILING TO REALIZE THAT SINCE THIS NWA MOVIE BLEW UP, HELLA RAP CLIQUES ARE GUNA START TRYNA MAKE MOVIES AND MANY OF THEM WILL GET PICKED UP AND GREEN-LIT. LIKE WHEN SPIDERMAN WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, IT WAS THA DAWN OF THE SUPERHERO MOVIE ERA. SEEMS LIKE THE HIP-HOP BIOPIC ERA IS SET TO TAKE OFF........OF COURSE, IT WONT BE JUST ABOUT DAZ AND KURUPT, BUT A MOVIE FOCUSED ON THE WHOLE DPGC CLIQUE CAN DO GOOD IF DONE RIGHT.

Theres alot more shit that went on at deathrow to talk about. So many stories and incidents. Deathrow was the biggest thing in gangsta rap from the early to mid 90's. Westcoasts biggest rap stars were there.
A major production movie is definately warranted.
It should focus on deathrow up until snoop leaves deathrow, and then take on a more doggpound-centric view on snoop and the dpgc family with the feud happening between them with suge and deathrow

How unoriginal!

NWA movie came out and all of a sudden Daz won't stop talking about Dogg Pound Movie.

I like Daz but when it comes to projects, he's a let down.

They better not do the movie, it'll be awful with Daz in charge and might mess up any chance of the real deal happening.

If it's ever going to happen, they need serious minds, that know what they are doing and won't accept some average rubbish.

Snoop, Daz, Kurupt, Warren G are not capable of that, it'll end up on trapflix as a mediocre rubbish.

I am a big DPG fan and I hope they won't be messing up their own legacy.

Go out on the street, hell even in Compton in 2015, and barely anyone will even know Daz and Kurupt. It makes no sense. Eminem fans watched Straight Outta Compton for Dr Dre, Ice Cube is also a fairly massive name due to his movies (and is relevant because of how hilarious he was in Jump Street). Had it not been for Dre and Cube, no one would care about Ren, Yella and Eazy in 2015. Sucks but that's the way music is I guess. Most people can't even name all the members of NWA.

What I want to know is where's the 2pac biopic? His entire life is meant for a film. His time in performing arts school, his digital underground start up, how he started to get with death row and be involved with the dangerous nutters, his feud with Biggie, his rape and cop killing incidents, hell even throwing a Mike Tyson in there for the night he got shot would make some noise. They have actors for Dre, Snoop, Suge, 2pac etc. all done from this film. Just make it a sequel, rehire the same non-big actors and let his story play out itself.

Daz is kinda pathetic. I have to say it. This is a man who had a double platinum album in the '90s with Kurupt. And he even had a top 10 solo album in 1998. But now he sounds like my friends who form bands and shoot music videos and act like rock stars even though they have four fans.

Seems to me that dude saw all the love that the N.W.A movie is getting and said, "hey, we big time too, we deserve a movie." But what he doesn't understand is, regardless of his cousin Snoop being legendary, none of their stories are really that incredibly dramatic nor are they really interesting to, well...many people outside of '90s hip-hop fans.

I would say, maybe, just maybe, a movie on Death Row Records from like '92 to '97ish could be made, with a closer look at Dre's travails during that era, Snoop blowing up and then dealing with his murder charge, and of course Tubesock Shucker. Unfortunately for Daz, I couldn't see his character being much more than an MC Ren type in the N.W.A movie. Shoot, even Warren G has a more interesting story than Daz, with being Dre's half-brother who, unlike the rest of his crew, didn't get signed to Death Row and instead had to go his own way, and basically made it on his own (obviously with a lot of help from RAL and Def Jam).

It's just sad Daz can't try to be real with himself. Instead of acting like he's still relevant, he should accept where he is, and try to work his way back. But acting like it's 1995 and thinking people want a Dogg Pound movie is outrageous. I'm surprised any news outlets picked this up. Shit, I mean this is the guy who said Dr. Dre was executive producing the new Dogg Pound album a year or two ago, right? How's that comin' Daz?

HA! :loser:

it's in the works, executive produced by LT Hutton and Afeni. but it won't feature the same actors as in SOC.

exactly my thoughts, it seems like TMZ are in touch with Daz more often ever since the GTA V controversy, and and they picked it up thinking it'll make some noise, not knowing or caring how unreliable and not credible Daz's word is. and other news outlets followed suit. the Dre produced DPG album immediately came to mind.

Not a fan of LT Hutton being on this project. He never worked with 'Pac and his remixes of 'Pac's songs were not true to 'Pac. I think Afeni put her trust in the wrong man.

Actually LT already worked with Pac when de was affiliated with tha Dogg Pound Gangstaz family, Snoop and Big C-Style in 1996. But I doubt he's the man able to make a great biopic
