There is no possible way that nelly, mc hammer, vanilla ice, or ludacris are more popular than dr. dre, or ice cube.  Those rappers had their 5 min of fame and thats about it.  Dre and cube are pretty much recognized by everyone, and even people who hate rap can get down to some of their music and like it and appreciate it.
