well I read the funkdoctors interview on this guy and it inspired me to go and buy an album by dazzie dee. I had never heard him before. Well today I got the rebirth in the mail. Wow I must say I am very impressed. I hear that his debut album is a westcoast classic. What ya'll know about this?

Yeah I love Re-Birth, especially Ultimate Drive By. I always thought Re-Birth was his one and only official album released. I have the promo for "Where's My Receipt?" and some of the songs from that made it over to Re-Birth, some didn't, and some mutated. I've never seen WMR for commercial sale, although the single from that album (Everybody Wants to be a Gangsta) was for sale. Also, if you have any of the following albums you have Dazzie on it:
Yo Yo-Make Way for the Motherlode (Tonight's the Night)
Str8 G-Shadow Of a G (Pussy Today)
Killafornia Organization-S/T (Mash Down)
Here's the tracklisting and differences for Where's My Receipt?
Where's My Receipt?:
1.Intro
2.Unda da Table (different from Re-Birth Unda da Table)
3.Ain't No Bustas This Way (same as on Re-Birth)
4.Knee Deep (same as on Re-Birth)
5.The Hood is Good-The Ghetto
6.Everybody Wants to be a Gangsta
7.When a G Meets a G-Stress (additional verse than the one on Re-Birth and different music)
8.On My Cide (same as on Re-Birth, with The Chill and Coolio)
9.What's in a Name?
10. I Remember-Now that I Think About It
11.West Side Hoodsta's
12.Sticcey Situation (same as on Re-Birth)
13.C-Alright
14.Outro-Thanx-Ice Cube Outro
Also look for "On My Cide" solo version, it's all I played summer of '96.
It's too bad he wasn't on any Cube projects, I thought he was one of the most talented members of the Lenchmob, has a very distinct voice and flow.
And yeah, I thought the Funkdocs did a nice job on that interview too, props to them.
peace,
tnp
