Dre did not even release a single from Compton, that was weird.

Instead of Compton, i wish we had a got proper soundtrack for the N.W.A movie compiled by Cube with fresh cuts like he did with the Friday movie.

I like ‘Gorgeous’, especially the verses, I find the chorus a bit unspectacular. But I wonder why they don't manage to release a real banger as the first single for such a special album. In general, I wonder when Dre last produced a catchy track that had hit potential. I think the obvious thing is simply the changes in his team. His last era when he was consistently producing real bangers was with Parker, Batson, Trevor Lawrence Jr. and especially Mike Elizondo. Since the ICU days, he has unfortunately lost his trademark style somewhat... The beats sometimes sound too complicated, too many changes, too many elements, too many styles... I'm afraid that's Dem Jointz's signature.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the album. Marsha's album was great, awesome sound, super consistent production. I think ‘Missionary’ will also be a cool album. But I'm assuming that we won't find a new track with the impact of ‘Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang’ or “Still DRE” on the album.

Actually we were still expecting 'Detox' and yes at the level of 'The Chronic', that's the standard we hold the best hip-hop producer of all time.

Yeah, no way you can call Compton a classic, and I'm sure Dre would agree. In fact, I don't think Dre would be working on this Missionary album had Compton been a classic. Dre has a GIANT ego and he wants to go out on top. I think he has to go out on top. No way he could go out with Compton as his last album.

The next single/video will be probably with one of the major features like Sting or Em/50, giving it that extra star boost.

I agree with the previous thought posted on here - initially I thought Gorgeous was a bouncy, funky track but wasn't thrilled with the chorus, despite Snoop sounding excellent. I've come around to it now on a few plays. I really like it now after listening a few times.

Regarding the chat about Compton - there were some good tracks, some very bad tracks. The best sounding ones were ones like Talking to My Diary and It's All On Me which were obviously recorded for Detox and you can tell by the difference in their sound and style of the beats. Compton was an OK album, but it was not a classic and nowhere near as good as his previous two. I'm convinced this is why Dre kept referring to it as a soundtrack album as he knew it wasn't in line with those 2.

While it may not be billed as a Dre album, it seems he put just as much time or more into this album than he did with Compton, and is doing FAR more to promote it.

Dre said he wants to pull out one more solo recored before he retires, fingers crossed.

This maybe be the last fully produced Snoop album by Dre though.

That was the best song on there, deserved a video and more shine.

According to Wiki  "Talk About It" was also a single, did not appear to us that way at the time.
Maybe coz they shot no video for that ethier.

Yes it is. It is a full executive produced album by Dre. Has Dre done this much promoting for anything in the past 20+ years? Nope. He never promoted any of his artists like this (Eminem, 50 cent). He barely even promoted Compton after it came out. He has been promoting Missionary like crazy.

You are crazy if you don't think this is a Dre album. If this weren't a Dre album, then it would have dropped a long time ago as that is snoops way of doing things. It isn't a Dre album as literally this is a Dr. Dre album, but this is very much a Dr. Dre project.

Dre produced a few tracks on Eminem's latest album, but I wouldn't even come close to calling that a Dr. Dre project. Dre is in complete control over Missionary.

I didn't expect Dre in 2015 to sound like he did in '92 or '99

if you went into that album thinking he would I understand how you would be disappointed but I thought it was a dope album

I love that Compton album. That's usually the first album I listen to when I get a new pair of headphones to judge the sound.

Talking to My Diary is my fav track from "Compton".

PS: For those who are saying that the track is not well mixed & mastered, I will upload the original 24Bit-FLAC in the usual place, so you can compare it with others. The quality is very good. For promotion use only.
