To everyone that feels Dre should have worked with anyone outside of the ICU, who would that group be?  I think at this point in Dre's career, can he start over with a new group of producers/writers/etc.?  I think the trust level he has with this team over the past decade plus all he had going on outside the studio (divorce, health issues) makes me feel that this is it until he says let's start over.

Also, the critique of the beats/production not being like 2001 or early to mid Detox, what should his beats sound like?  Who is making beats that sound like what yall are looking for? Mxxwll? Anomalie?
dre will never top or find anyone better than his mid 2000s detox crew, they understood the mission dre was on for detox and they put their foot in every single song they made. some of the best sampling, original beats and ideas ever made in hiphop. all the producers were competing with each other to out do each other everytime they got together for beat listening sessions for dre. they were all huge fans of each other and respected each of them to a very high regard. ICU just doesnt have that, they just dickride whatever mid dre tells them to do, thats why were stuck listening to overproduced 90s flips instead of genre changing talented musical beats that fans and producers would be jealous of hearing like how the fuck did they do that. 2001 crew were ok but they werent doing anything as creative or mindblowing as the detox crew. sucks the public wont ever hear them. detox wouldve truly changed the course of hiphop if it dropped in 2011 as planned. oh well i guess lol.

Sh*t Popped Off - the original one with T.I. (not the one with that crappy hook about "models/bottles"). Yes, The Buchanans produced it, but Dre probably had his hands in it.

I can't say Topless with Nas, but its up there

shit popped off is dope but prolly woulda been the worst track on 2001 lol .. sounds like a beat he woulda given to jay-z for kingdom come

topless is probably the best example of a detox track that could match 2001 level

I swear it feels like this guy just saying all that shit for attention at this point lol
Most of the track on both Compton and Missionary were better than most of Detox leaks other than T.I joints (Topless, Popped off etc) and maybe Get It

"creative or mindblowing" lmao as if we haven't heard Chillin, Flashin', Under Pressure, Turn me up and all that other uninspired wack shit with Nate Dogg impersonators on the hooks

His 2006-2009 Detox sessions were the greatest thing ever, judging by the beats than ended up on Snoop, Em and Busta albums, but the leaks from that era were definitely not it. I remember when Under Pressure leaked, that was the moment when people went from "When will Detox come out" to "Is Detox gonna be good?"

J.LBS, DJ Dahi, Dj Silk, Terrace Martin. (i know its impossible but Mike Dean)

i dont want dre to go back to his previous musicians, music is evolving. producers i mentioned above would take dre to next level. As soon as possible dr. dre needs to get rid of Focus and Dem Jointz.

I now have the feeling, no matter what Dre brings out, it would no longer run as it used to and be considered a flop, 36k for a Snoop and Dre album? Something went wrong, which I also find sad, 2 years of work, 10 years ago they would have even made shit gold, I really think the music consumption has changed radically

the best Detox tracks never leaked and weren't produced by Khalil.

there's the Slim The Mobster myspace clip (not the one below where he's in the studio) which included a clip of piano beat blazing through the corridor, this sort of thing.

also the anecdotes about the 'best beat ever' created in early 2009 produced by Elizondo & Batson. these are the ones going on Detox we never heard.

the prime era for Detox seems to be around the time Dre was fucking with Slim The Mobster. the Psycho beat was dope too, this is more like the 2001 sound updated and incredibly dope.

And how did Dre repay T.I.?
