It most definitely is not a rap album, in my opinion. Production is not what was expected for an Eastsidaz album, October London? Seemed like an extremely soft album, compared to Tray Deee most recent work Malice.
Tray Deee &  lil' Goldie loc should have had all say, production wise etc. This has Snoop's finger prints all over it, nothing but misdirection just like all Snoop albums minus Dre involved projects. Just my opinion, I am disappointed in this effort put out!!

They went pop???

It did to me. Both albums Dpg & Eastsidaz have similar feels to them, not sure what it is. Oh yeah, not the original feels for both albums. I love both groups, obviously I'm not expecting past quality just wanted the familiarity that's all.

How was the DPG album pop? It had like one '"pop" song.

i can't understand why battlecat gives his worst beats for artists to release but he keeps the best ones to preview on instagram live only.

to me the best song is the one which features butch cassidy but for the first time i thought butch cassidy couldnt make it. he could come up a better chorus on that beat. i felt kinda dissapointed with butch's performance.

on the other hand production sounds very well mixed and mastered. beats are banging on both headphones and speakers. but beats are forgetable.

there could be a fucking good EP with a fredwreck production, catchy battlecat production, way better butch cassidy performance.

but i still feel like to listen to eastsidaz on 2024.

i’ll say it again….

producers typically don’t give beats to artists … they let artists hear a handful of beats and then the artist decides which they wana spit on

it’s not like they hit up battlecat and said “give us a beat” and he just sent them this 1 beat

LOL

EP is exactly what you would expect from Tha Eastsidaz, only bad thing is how short it is. Favorite song off the EP is Watch & Chillin', Snoop kills it on that track  8)

I really like Snoop’s flow on this!
Like how he went rapid in the middle like the young Snoop.

So I listened to the album. Lyrically and delivery wise, its fire. If the beats were given to anyone but Tha Eastsidaz, the beats would be fire but they're too post 2005 West Coast for most artists. I'll give it a 7/10 for effort.

Really solid EP.

1. First of all, the sound quality is impeccable. I don't know why it sounds so good, but it does, and it gives the EP that big budget feeling. I love it when rap albums sound like this.

2. Very consistent musically with the Dogg Pound album. You could listen to the two ablums bacc to bacc without skipping a beat, pun intended. Yes, it has a "bright" dance music sound to it, but I'm not expecting the late 90s sound anymore. It's 2024, after all. Most of the production here is good enough, imo, which is a victory considering how bad it could be in this day and age.

3. I always marvel at Tray Deee's ability to find new ways to same the same old thing with complex lyrical patterns. He's lyrically one of the best lyricists from the West, no doubt, even if just due to his lyrical longevity.

4. Snoop's verse on that one song is surprisingly really good. He put some effort in, which is not always the case.

5. Goldie and Tracy still have good chemistry on the mic.

6. I always mention this, and I guess I'm going to have to die on this hill, but I hate song with two verses. They always feel half baked to me.

Thank you, Goldie, Tracy and Cordozar.
"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

I pretty much feel the same way except for #6. I'm a die hard 90s west coast rap fan. In this day and age of music, if you are a 90s west coast rap fan, I simply can't see how you don't think this is good for today's music.

Indeed! Tray Deee is such a good rapper and he and Goldie still sound so good together!
