Dre music getting pop?
« on: December 07, 2024, 09:58:10 AM »
Anyone else feeling the recently released music from Dre and snoop sounds more pop? I'm feeling the Dogg pound music seems more hip hop but...... Let me know anyone with better albums to listen to!

I think they tried to go for a little different audience with these songs that were released

hopefully the album has something for the core fans

as far as the Dogg Pound album yeah it is more hip hop but not necessarily good either

That recent leak Futurustic Shit or whatever its called was probably around the same time too.  Mr Prescription...Under Pressure.   All part of a version of detox i'm sure.

Good music is good music...bad music is bad music. I don't care the genre.

Doggystyle and Chronic are my top two albums ever of any genre. That being said, there are pop songs that are fucking amazing. Michael Jackson's Beat It and Billie Jean are both pop and those songs are absolutely incredible.

Nothing wrong with pop. Pop is just short for "Popular". Super hard core hip hop heads would even argue that some songs on Doggystyle are pop.

I'm not super stoked with anything I've heard from Missionary, but I don't think they are bad. I will wait to hear the entire album in its entire form to properly judge it.

They sampled more 80s rock than 70s funk .. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Police & Sting … they’re 50+ years old and bringing back old samples from a different genre with “Last Dance with Mary Jane” “Message in a Bottle”, it’s a different feeling than Funk its Rock but Dre is in a different zone this time… This a Dre produced mixed and mastered album with Dem Jointz, Focus & Fred Wreck really it can’t be that bad but Snoop & Dre are making music for their ages and not pretending this go round … no songs about bitches or killing … just weed and joint ventures and legacy dominance…

It’s going to sound weird shit it sounds like Snoop Lion remastered in my
Opinion… more refined lyrically and vocally … Dre brings out the best Snoop vocally

I wanna thank me … was an amazing album if you take out the weird stuff towards the end and so was BODR same a bit too long but a Great Snoop album

This is Snoop sounding his age and on a expensive budget
