I'm almost done my first listen. I'm pretty disappointed. No way anyone in their right mind thinks this is better than Missionary. I agree Missionary wasn't that good, but there's so many bad songs on here. It started promising, but the stretch from "you want my all" to "cold summer" is embarrassingly bad. Like five AWFUL tracks in a row. I can't believe how bad the Pharrell + Denaun Porter joints are.So far, the best songs I've heard are Joy, Sophisticated Crippin', Just the Way It Iz, and Snoop Will make you dance. There's also a bunch of decent songs at the beginning, but it just gets worse as it goes on.
Who ever says this crap is better than missionary might be trolling or their parents never ever loved him when he was a child.
Battlecat is also ruining his legacy with giving crap beats to snoop while he has bangers in his vault. Damn who the fuck are you keeping those bangers if they arent for snoop?
I think it's just a matter of taste. If you solely listen to old school West Coast music, and don't listen to other stuff you may not like it as a whole. The sexy redd joint, could be a nice strip club anthem for example. There are alot of good joints, depending on your taste and the setting you are in
Battlecat has two of the worst records on the entire album: Can't get Enough + You want My All.
Look at the beat he wasted for somebody but not snoop.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRacEF0f_XE?si=MwwwzHMzMJ3YWlAB
LOL @ ppl comparing it to Missionary – 2 totally different approaches and styles. Feels more like a follow up to BODR. Which btw is the best outta the 3 imo
definitely bodr was a dope album i haven't really gave this new one a proper spin yet but coolaid, neva left, and bodr are the best snoop albums of the last 10 years
Do you get the concept of those songs tho? If you listen to the lyrics (dedication to his wife) it kinda make sense, also it is putting Jane Hancock on the spotlight. I get that it is not your typical Battlecat bounce tho
