My thoughts on IIAC.

-seem like a "surprise" album to me.. why not let Xzibit do his thing. X to the Z was supposed to drop in March if I recall correctly and pushed back to May. X's date has been in the books a bit. Then Snoop dropped on Thursday 5.15 a day before X's album dropped on the normal new music Friday? I mean in the grand scheme of things it's not a huge deal but seemed odd. I noticed Snoop posted a screenshot of iTunes and it showed he bought X's album but X's album was in the #2 slot behind IIAC which was odd. Yesterday I saw X posted a screenshot of his album ahead of Snoops on iTunes but it showed he had not bought Snoop's (wasn't shown as "purchased") so to me I wasn't sure if he was throwing shade.

-I am a fan of Snoops and have been since '92. I really like Missionary but I expressed my feedback in that thread. I still bump the album. It appears I'll be the minority when I say I like Missionary more than this album.

-IIAC dropped and I listened Thur am. It started out good to me with Iz It A Crime.. I text a few friends to peep out the album.. but from there it just didn't do much for me. Hell in the last 5-7 albums my fav and most replay value of Snoop's.... to me .. is BODR! I just love the vibe of that album.

-15 second intro - a nod to LOX's Money Power and Respect I assume .... which we get a lot of nods to other hip hop artists / lyrics on this album
-Iz It A Crime? - when I heard the excerpt in social media I was like oh hell yeah... the old Snoop we all wanted to hear. This was a standout on the album for me. A trend I've seen more and more that I do not like.. its too short. Just over 2 minutes once it kicks in....
-Joy - starts out dope. Again, less than 3 min track. Lots of name drops and references to other songs... just not feeling this one
-Unsung Heroes - just over 2 minutes... I like he beat but same old lyrics from Snoop
-Sophisticated Crippin' - Seems to carry the the theme of dropping nods to other rapper lyrics. Lots of name drops. Nate Dogg's catalog in the pipeline ... if true is good news!
-Can't Wait - less than 3 minutes.. 2:22 once it kicks in.. I dig this track but to me LaRussell is annoying on this one
-Can't Get Enough - I'll stop mentioning the short tracks.... sub track for me.. since I am not sure of the theme of this album I am not sure it fits but it is there
-Keep It Moving - I like this track, the flow, beat
-Just the Way It Iz - pretty dope track. Reunites Snoop with Wiz. Khalifa was mid on this track to me
-You Want My All - I like Snoop on this track but Akeem Ali to me (whoever that is) is annoying. Maybe the younger crowd likes AA and he's trying to bridge the gap.. but its not for me lol
-What's Hattnin? - pretty dope but... i had to 1 more time.. 1:30 ish of a track? c'mon
-Spot - Can't go wrong with Pharrell Williams right? Not my fav Snoop track but its ok to me.
-ShutYoBitchAss Up - hook is annoying as ____.
-Cold Summer - not it for me.. not sure what else to say.. not a fan
-Snoop Will Make You Dance - ok, some funk and a track I can get down with. Feel like the Snoop lineage I like back to the classic Snoop
-Life's Journey - I dig it. Hook is just ok to me..
-Me N OG Snoop - this time and the first time I heard it... ANNOYING to me.. I could not finish it either time I listened... Snoop doesn't sound bad but -Sexxy Red - annoying.. I don't get it... I am certainly not a fan of the type of rap she is doing
-Let Me Love You - I dig it
-West Up - decent track... "I was from negative to positive" another nod to famous lyrics - e.g. Biggie.
-My Friend - Pretty dope RIP track (RIP to Snoop's family members including Joe Cool). I like Snoop's part on the track but for a 4:30 track he is only on it from 0:18 to 0:57 and then Denaun from 0:58 to the end.
-Live Life - I dig it

Is it a bad album? I wouldn't say bad but not my fav Snoop album by FAR! Others said it.. to me so often its jump in the studio.. throw some tracks together ... see what sticks and boom put it out as an album. Am I glad he is still releasing new music? Yeah.. but as a Snoop fan for 30+ its mid to me. Just my opinion which is not right or wrong lol. I guess I am Old AF as others stated on this thread lol.

Sophisticated Crippin'  .....Got Nate Dogg catalog in the pipeline...
He already mentioned in an interview that he wants to clear the rights for the 213 album, I also hope that they release the self-titled album

Never heard of this, a new 213 album?

I gave this album another shot and again theres some nice songs, but overall its like a bunch of random singles, I wish these albums had a style and kept it all the way through

I heard Warren in an interview say he never got paid anything for that album. Its sad. I hope Snoop gets the rights and drops it on streaming. Def some jams on there.

Don't think Snoop owns the rights to this one to be able to break Warren G off a piece.  As evident from Snoop trying to buy the rights to it.  From my understanding everything was split an even 3 ways on the publishing, so if Warren blew it all or whatever, that's on him.

Can blame Snoop for a lot of things, but in this case, don't think it's on him.

Also cool that Snoop might end up with Nate Dogg's catalog.  That's probably the best we could hope for as far as ownership goes.  Someone that might actually release stuff, part of the OG crew.

Yeah, I'm gonna guess all the issues with the 213 album // not getting paid is TVT Records related.

forget missionary, that was a phenomennon...

this album is more like BODR, but with less october london which is a good thing!

the featurings mostly hook singin, the album is more like rnb and soul than a traditional rap album.

not bad at all i like it!

I think The Hard Way and Tha Eastsidaz were on TVT and they went under or something similar.

Missionary doesn't even sound modern and doesn't follow current music trends that are popular right now.

I said Missionary was commercial not trendy.

I'll stop mentioning the short tracks.

No, please do keep mentioning it, because it's a big problem with modern rap music. Traccs are waay 2 short, making all the songs consistently feel rushed and unfinished, like mixtape traccs instead of album cuts.

"Detox" is a myth -- Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Area 51, Iraq having WMD, Detox...you get it now?  It was invented by the Aftermath marketing department to maintain the fans' attention.  Notice how everytime a new Aftermath album is ready to come out, they always mention Detox is next up?  Because they are using the invention of "Detox" as a way to market other albums.  The sooner you realize that Detox is NOT REAL, the sooner you'll feel liberated.  Oh yeah, f.u. Aftermath for fooling us fans.

The style of this album reminds me of the Neva Left album just random tracks to put out a release doesn’t seem to be any thought behind it - just something thrown together to put out there. A shorter track list and more focus and it could have been a dope album. First time I heard and really don’t like these new people LARussell and Akeem Ali but each to their own I guess this is what the young folk enjoy. The Sexy Redd song reminds me of when there used to be 1 No Limit Cut on Snoop Albums so I didn’t mind it too much.
