Well that's the beauty of this forum is you can always bump old threads.  The past asks questions and the future answers them.  Back when this thread was made everyone was excited about what role MJ would be playing with NBC.  We probably thought Jordan would be calling some games or at least visit the commentators booth for a portion of some games, maybe something like that.

It literally ended up just being one single one hour interview with Mike Tirico, which is being split into short segments over the course of the season.  Jordan was paid 20 million for this.

better coverage, better presentation .. they present the game like an event, while abc just threw it in a mcdonald's bag and tossed it to u.

-Prime Barkley 76ers vs. Bulls
-Bird's 2-seeded Celtics vs. Pistons last stand
-Malone Stockton Jazz vs. Blazers
-Mullin vs. Magic

^^^. That's some great basektball all covered by a young Earnie Johnson back in the TNT studio.  How could any new coverage compete with that?
