i don't understand what's goin on

everyone just trading their franchise players

charlotte had a great year and looked to have incredible chemistry with a bright future

minnesota got better but needs some front court depth now

there's no loyalty anymore in sports...by the players or the front offices and management

They can't expect to force loyalty.  They really have to restructure the league rules if they want to get loyalty back.  Or else it's just like that Seinfeld joke of, "Sports it's just fans cheering for one teams laundry vs. the other teams laundry" (meaning guys aren't really from the city, they are just wearing the uniform)

I even get bothered by commentators.  We have this guy Rex Hudler doing color commentary in Kansas City.  He's such a nice guy I don't want to say anything mean, but let's just say he's not the most coherent and makes up what he's gonna say mid-sentence and then changes it and tries to correct it.  One night several years back, he made the mistake and got caught out dreaming of what Salvador Perez would look like in pinstripes (with the Yankees).

But think about Rex Hudler.  The guy had a cup of coffee for nearly every major league team, and got fired as a commentator in Cali and then picked up a gig with the Royals.  It's horrible.  And he pretends to be a big KC guy and fan of the team, but you can hear and feel the difference when he talks verses a true local guy.

Sorry, I went on the rant there, but now back to my o.g. point....

They have to add more incentives for players to stay with teams.  Like the Franchise Tag in the NFL is a good measure, and in MLB and NFL they have rookie contracts that keep a player with a team for at least the first few years of his career.  These things are important and I wish there were more incentives

NBA has rookie contracts too .. and the team the player is signed to can give him more money to re-sign than any other team once he becomes a free agent
