Daz wasn’t doing shit before that. He was too young he was along for the ride being in the studio with his cousin and learned from Dre as they went along and of course Soopafly. I feel like Soopafly musical genius is criminally overlooked
His mom or aunt was in the industry, but it’s still a crazy story to be like in Oklahoma having done nothing and then like suddenly, “oh hey my cousin got signed by Dre and so I’m gonna go over there be the second producer in the rap world and platinum recording artist for the next few years”I mean at least Snoop, Nate, Warren had 213 and Kurupt was on that one album 💿 before ever meeting Snoop he’d been on a major label release. But Daz came out of nowhere...yeah man what the fucc is up with Soopafly always getting overlooked
He isn't overlooked by me, I have been supporting Soopafly since day 1. The hoes stood no chance when he got on the mic. Snoop always tried to hold him down. First by signing him and never releasing anything, and then putting him in Dubb Union with those other 2 nobodies. Soopafly has had a hand in some of the biggest rap hits of all time. He played keys on some big songs, some credited, some not. And later on, ghost produced a lot of stuff for Daz.
Bro Daz is not from Oklahoma he’s from Long Beach. He grew up there. Their (Snoop Daz RBX) parents generation came to Long Beach from Mississippi
And Soopafly is still working too. if you look at the BET Awards performance, he is doing background vocals with October London and J.Black
dre coulda taken anyone and made them dope in those daysif he had some infinite vocals he would have them sounding like rakim once he was through with them
Now it's the opposite, Dre's current chaotic production style makes people sound worse than they really are.
Yeah, i think he's still doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff. Seems like he's kind of unofficially retired from rapping, other than occasional guest spot, most recently on Daz's new album, but it might be an older song. It's a shame he never really checks bitches anymore. That's the only thing i miss about his work these days.
