What was your soundtrack in Summer 96?

I didn’t buy the Show soundtrack until Summer of 96’ and I only bought it because it had Snoop and Dre in the tracklisting, but it was a scam because all it was was like a few sentences of movie quotes from them.

But, it soon became my soundtrack to the summer.  Bone, Dove Shack, Twins, 2pac, Jayo Felony, South Central, all had bangers on that album

…but by soundtrack I know you mean what was my playlist this summer.  Back then we had to dubb our mixes on tape, I had a tape that went exactly like this…

1. “Atliens”
2.  “Getting It”
3.  “How do you Want it”
4.  “Hay”

Then the rest were cuts I dubbed from the Show soundtrack.  Other radio jams I liked seeing on MTV were “Loungin”, “If I Ruled The World” videos were blowing up

My stupid ass friend was supposed to dubb It Was Written to the B side of the tape and I labeled it “This Side” so he would know which one to dubb and he was like “oh I thought you meant put that side in face first” smh and dubbed over my mix, and the rest is history, my girl moved away, Pac got murdered, Doggfather flopped, and my life has been downhill (messed up) ever since

it doesn't ruin the OG but at some point Daz needs to stop trying to capture the past...he already just did Part 2

Its almost like when Jordan came back with the Wizards, it doesn't take away from his legacy but watching him limp through his final season in '02-'03 kind of left a bad taste
