i think people's main gripe is the mixing and mastering it makes the difference between a track being mediocre vs good if you're listening on headphones or a cheap system with no bass, everything sounds good are you bumping this in the ride? there's a lot of distortion and loss of frequencies
Agreed. This is what was so well done with the RBX album you guys released. It sounded proper! Is it the time, or the money, that guys like Daz don’t send albums for professional mastering? Bernie Grundman mastering must be affordable if RBX is doing it. I mean you got Dr Dre and RBX sending their albums to the same guy?
brian gardner aka big bassbernie retired a while ago but yea, i did all the mixing and we then sent it off to brian ... and we had brian do an average of 4-5 masters on each track before we finally got the sound we were looking for so it's a combination of time and money hard to perfect shit when you're just shitting out albums..gives u less time to give the proper attention to detail unfortunately, after we did hibernation shivers, rbx started working with some mediocre producers, so his output moving forward will be closer to daz's current quality
You guys did a great job and now he can’t afford your services. Take it as a compliment
LOLit's more about we started working on my album, so the focus been on that but there's a few rbx features on there, naturally
When is your album coming out? You must have a release date in mind because you are goal oriented.
who puts out 3 top tier albums in one year?
Dazs output is pretty good. I’ve listened to it front to back a few times, I like it! Mixing and mastering aren’t the best but the beats are bangers. This is good shit
Me too. I don't get some people's obsession with Daz and trying to bring him down. Feels like it all started with the Makaveli and Dillinger fiasco. If dude wants to make a bunch of albums, who cares?? Cherry pick the best songs, toss the rest. I took 3 or 4 songs from his last 4 or 5 albums and have an amazing collection of songs to listen to. Better than your so called 'heroes of rap' who release an album once every 20 years. Can only listen to Still DRE so many times before it gets old. He is keeping the classic westcoast sound. Releasing albums trying to keep the west alive. Working with new people. Open to working with lesser names to try and get their careers launched. Out there hustling everyday. I don't see how people are turning this into a bad thing.
I haven't really been keeing up with Daz's new stuff. Any chance you could provide a list of the songs on that collection you put together?
The CDs are finally available. $25 plus ~$20 shipping...
