I don't what ya'll hearing but the lyrics in all that shit sounds next level to me... especially tracks like "Heads Ringin" and "Natural Born Killaz"
there was a thread on the coli breakin down how corny the lyrics were, it became a running joke some that stood out:It's the D-R-E the spectacularIn a party I go for your neck, so call me "Blacula"niggas run up and try to kill at willBut get popped like a pimple, so call me ClearasilWhen I rock the spot with the flavor I gotI get plenty of ass, so call me an ass-tronautYour rhyme sounds like you bought 'em at Stop 'n GoDre came to wax you so, just call me Mop and GloLOLpersonally, i never had a problem with the lyrics... but i think calling them "next level" is a bit of a stretch, to say the least... it was the production that made the song, first second and third.
I thought the lyrics were pretty cringe myself when I really sat down and read them lol...but I never noticed them all the years I listened to the track because Dre delivered them so confidently that and the beat makes it a 10/10 track
The best and most popular west coast rappers are Dre, Snoop, PAC and Kendrick. Thats the rappers i know you still hear on the radio, The youth listen 2 and the OGs. Game is dope but everybody thinks that hes hits are 50cent songs.
I don't get it then... because I remember when that track first dropped all I was used to hearing was gangsta lyrics from Death Row, so when he was spitting all those crazy metaphors it sounded so next level to me.Then with the KRS sample obviously I had no idea that was a KRS one sample, but that was one of those things that was like a buzz word catch phrase at the jr. high lunch table, we had no idea what it was saying but we were just like "BUCK BUCK BUCK BUCK SLAM THAT SHOT"It was just one of those legendary moments as a kid in the 80's and 90's when you used to hear about something by word of mouth before you actually got your hands on it and it just built up the hype and legend of the track.Just sitting with my best friends at the lunch table and they are like, "Yeah the new Dre song, he's in an airplane" --- yeah and its like "BUCK BUCK SLAM THAT SHOT!!!" ohh man life was never better, so I don't care what anyone says those are some of the best vocal rap solo performance in rap history and someone agrees with me cause it one Source Awards or Grammy Awards for best rap solo in 95 when everyone was in their primebtw..I just found out a few days ago the hole song is a metaphor for getting head
Cube should be there.
If the DOC is writing for Dre then I rather listen to Dre rap
