naah that's the typa shit that can garner critical acclaim and even get him grammy nods ..... good music is good music
Judging by the overwhelming interest and positive reactions from "people here" I'd say you've lost that bet my man lol. I'm a day 1 Dre fan and am genuinely excited about this project. I'd go further and say that any Dre fan is a fan of the 70s music - obviously funk but soul and R&B. And if you like the 70s stuff, you probably like the 60s too. Wanna count all the Grammys and other awards behind that shit? lol. My point is, these type of listeners don't consider "talking about smoking weed and being a gangster" the end-all-be-all; after all, the music that gave rise to Dre was talking about a whole bunch of other stuff - and so was the music that gave rise to that. Give people some credit dude lol - it's a little more sophisticated than you're making it out to be. Like the dude above me said, good music is good music. And being a fan of good music isn't shallow. Not being a fan of it is lol.
Well A it is a moot point because this will never drop in a million years. And B Dre has done outside the box stuff his whole career and people shit on it any time it is not gangster rap. This time will be no different.
Hahaha ok dude.. you got all the answers lol. Start a cult or something lol
Just look at history man. It is not that hard. All the way back from the Jimmy Z jazz album to Cassablanco. Maybe you are too young but trust us OGs here.
jj fad and michelle were both pretty succesful .. truth hurts was well received too when eminem dropped he was outside the box .. not your typical gangsta rap like u sayinso naah
👆 This guy seems really impressed with himself 😂
I speak in facts and logic. I was there in 1988 when this shit dropped and Dre and NWA first came on the scene. I was there when Nicety and Funky Flute dropped and everyone was like WTF is this? Then the club mix dropped and Dre rapped even longer on it. People thought Dre was done. Eazy got him back on the right track. Like Eazy said, deep down Dre was never really a gangster. He was Wrecking Kru through and through. Dre hopped on the gangster rap bandwagon because that was what was selling. Remember the Aftermath Compilation that bombed? Dre has tried so many times to leave gangster rap but his fans want nothing but that from him so he has to keep going back to it. Then there are people like you who drool every time there is a rumor of Dre dropping any sort of song or beat thinking it is gonna be Detox and when it isnt, you whine and cry until you hear of Dre doing something again and the whole cycle repeats. You will cry again if this Planets album ever drops.
missionary did drop .. it was gangsta rap .. and it wasn't well receivedso less to do with gangsta rap and more to do with the music just wasn't great
😂 Was all that supposed to prove you're not impressed with yourself? LMAO. Logic my ass LMAODude, I totally get why so many people are in forums now lol... So they can talk like this to random people they don't know and never met while they stroke themselves 😂Don't get any jizz on the keyboard 😂
