How many artists released more than one album on Death Row? Snoop and Pac? That's it. And Pac's was posthumously. Not counting the later 'unauthorized' releases Death Row did for people no longer with the company. So if you really think Warren G would have been able to release multiple albums under the Death Row banner, you are sorely mistaken.
No I definitely don't think that. I said, "imagine". And also, I said it would have been nice if on the strength of being brothers with Dre, best friends with Snoop, step brothers with Dre, the guy who brought in Kurupt, work on first 3 Death Row releases, etc... they would have just given clearance for the artists to work on Warren's first two albums.Because remember the single "What We Go Thru" could've had its proper jump off for the album if Dogg Pound was on the song and video. I loved the song anyway but it's just another level with Dogg PoundAnd I'm gettin the feeling you were a big Coolio fanboy in the day because you keep coming back to wanting to compare him in some way with Warren G.Warren G's first 3, and possibly four albums were all superior to anything Coolio has done in his career. Coolio had one monster singles, 2 or 3 big singles, had style, charisma — underground respect from his Maad Circle DayzBut you doin too much to keep hinting that there is some kind of comparison here. The only one is who was a bigger star in 94 and 95 in the sense of crossover appeal from mainstream hits. But anything else is off the table for discussion/comparison

Let's look at things objectively:Warren G:Album #1, top 2 singles Regulate, This DJ - Went 3x platinumAlbum#2, top 2 singles I Shot The Sheriff, Smoking Me Out - Went goldAlbum#3, top 2 singles I Want It All, Game Don't Wait - Went goldCoolio:Album#1, top 2 singles Fantastic Voyage, Do U Remember - Went platinumAlbum#2, top 2 singles Gangsta's Paradise, 1,2,3,4 Sumptin New - Went 3x platinumAlbum#3, top 2 singles CU When U Get There, Ooh La La - Went GoldTell me why you feel Warren G was much better than Coolio at the time.
Warren's first 3 albums can pretty much be listened through without skipping — with the exception being that Ruff Ryders track and maybe one other on I Want it All.And Warren's music can change your life in those days. You ain't hanging a Coolio poster on your wall but I decorated my whole stereo with Warren's liner notes
soopafly is a closet coolio fan and secretly likes him more than warren g
Very good contribution to the discussion as usual. And yeah, i like Coolio, I have a bunch of his albums too. Talented dude, liked him all the way back from Tha MAAD Circle Days. I like how Rated R from Thug Life hooked up with him for a bit under his Crowbar records imprint after the whole Pac thing went down. If you keep up with the Bone Thugz unreleased scene, a Coolio/Bone song from The Art Of War days just leaked, and it's pretty good.

Soopafly changed his backstory. He actually was listening to Ace of Base "The Sign" and his whole life changed when he heard "Fantastic Voyage". Snoop and Dre's music was a bit too hard for him and plus his parents wouldn't let him buy those albums so he went with his mom to Best Buy and purchased the edited non Parental Advisory version of It Takes a Theif and it was one of the happiest days of his childhood. He thought that life couldn't get any better and then the next year Dangerous Minds movie and soundtrack came out. He knew the hood was dangerous but he never really realized how dangerous it was in black neighborhoods till he saw the "Gangstaz Paradise" music video. Yet he knew if one had courage like Coolio they could make it even under the harshest conditions. After Coolio got him into rap he was old enough by 96' he bought the All Eyez on Me album without his parents knowing. He kind of started to realize that Coolio wasn't the #1 rapper and there were other more respected rappers. He changed his backstory once the internet took off in the late 90's and early 2000's and now he tells it that he was a Coolio fan from the Maad Circle days
The Coolio shade in here crazy, lol. Like he couldn't rap and didn't have at least just as many hits as Warren. I liked his voice better too, before he changed his whole style in the 00's
